TIPPING OFF
The Arkansas Tech men's basketball team is set to carry their double-digit winning streak on the road with them this week as they travel west to the State of Oklahoma for a pair of Great American Conference games. The first stop will see Tech pull in to Shawnee to take on Oklahoma Baptist.

This will be the 17th meeting all-time between Arkansas Tech and Oklahoma Baptist in a series that dates back to the 1968-69 season. Overall, Tech trails the series 5-11. Since Oklahoma Baptist became members of the GAC prior to the 2015-16 season, the Wonder Boys are 5-7 against Oklahoma Baptist.

As conference foes, the two teams met twice last season in the regular season with the series being split. Tech lost the initial meeting 77-74 at home, but won on the road, 65-55.

Tip-off for Thursday night's game is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. inside the Noble Complex.

TECH(NICALLY) SPEAKING
The Wonder Boys are 10-2 overall this season and are 6-0 in the early goings of the GAC schedule. Most-recently, the Wonder Boys extended their winning streak to 10 games with a thrilling 73-69 win at home against Southeastern Oklahoma this past Saturday. The 10-game winning streak is the longest since the 2016-17 season when the Wonder Boys won 11-straight games.

Statistically, the Wonder Boys average 75.8 ppg and rank fifth in the GAC. On the defensive end of the court, the Wonder Boys rank first in the league in scoring defense, giving up an average of 65.4 ppg. In terms of field goal percentage and field goal percentage defense, the Wonder Boys are fifth in the conference as they shoot at an overall clip of .470 (319-of-679) and limit their opponents to a .425 mark (267-of-628) to rank third.

From beyond-the-arc, the Wonder Boys shoot at a clip of .401 (101-of-252) to rank first in the GAC while their opponents make three-pointers at a mark of .333 (78-of-234) to rank sixth. From the free throw line, the Wonder Boys shoot .690 as a team (171-of-248) to rank ninth.

Individually, the Wonder Boys have three players averaging double figures in scoring and are led by
Taelon Peter and his 19.5 ppg.
Cassius Brooks and
Tommy Kamarad are next in scoring at 11.6 and 10.4 ppg, respectively.

Josh Mitchell is the team-leader in rebounding and is averaging 6.7 rebounds per game. In terms of assists,
Brooks leads the team and is averaging 3.3 assists per game.

Defensively, the Wonder Boys are led in steals by
Peter at 2.6 steals per game and in blocks by
Mitchell at 1.9 blocks per game.

The Wonder Boys are coached by
Mark Downey, who is in his fourth season back on the sidelines at Tech after a 10-year hiatus. In his first stint,
Downey patrolled the sidelines at Tech for four seasons from 2006-07 - 2009-10. In his final season,
Downey guided the Wonder Boys to a program-record 30 wins and during that season, the Wonder Boys were ranked No. 1 in NCAA DII for the first time ever.

In his time at Tech, which is now in its eighth season overall,
Downey has amassed a 120-89 record. Overall,
Downey is in his 17th season as a head coach and has career record of 286-195.

SCOUTING THE BISON
Oklahoma Baptist is 6-6 overall this season and are 3-3 in GAC play. The Bison are coming off a loss in their most-recent game played on the road at Henderson State. In that game, the Bison held a lead at halftime, but ended up losing, 82-77.

Statistically, the Bison average 79.4 ppg and rank second in the GAC. On the defensive end of the court, the Bison rank ninth in the league in scoring defense, giving up an average of 75.1 ppg. In terms of field goal percentage and field goal percentage defense, the Bison are eighth in the conference as they shoot at an overall clip of .460 (386-of-839) and limit their opponents to a .446 mark (360-of-807) to rank sixth.

Wade leads the team and is averaging 4.7 assists per game.

Jason Eaker, who is in his sixth season as head coach at Oklahoma Baptist. In his time at Oklahoma Baptist,
Eaker has a 93-60 record and has won 20 or more games twice.
