SEARCY, Ark. – Arkansas Tech sophomore guard
Taelon Peter set a new career-high in three-point field goals made on Monday night at Harding as he knocked down nine on the road at Harding. The sensational shooting night for the Russellville product, however, came in defeat.
The previous single-game high for Peter was five, a mark he achieved earlier this month against East Central at home. The nine trifectas accounted for all of Peter's makes from the field. He also added a free throw to push his scoring total for the game to 28, tying his career-best.
The nine made three-pointers by Peter are also tied for the most in a game for a Wonder Boy since the 2018-19 season when Freddy Lee made nine against Southwestern Oklahoma.
As mentioned, Peter's big night came in a tough road loss at Harding. The game at Harding on Monday night was Tech's third road game in five days as they had an Oklahoma road swing over the last weekend.
In the game, Tech jumped out to an early lead and led by as many as nine points early in the first half, but the Bisons were virtually unstoppable offensively throughout the rest of the game helping them overcome the deficit and eventually turn it into a lopsided advantage.
For the game, Harding shot just over 60% overall from the floor, 45% from three-point range and 80% from the charity stripe.
The Wonder Boys will now look to rest and recover for a pivotal two-game homestand this coming weekend. First up is a Thursday night game against Northwestern Oklahoma. Tip-off is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. Two days later, the Wonder Boys will host Southwestern Oklahoma in a game that is set to tip-off at 3 p.m.
