TIPPING OFF
One final non-conference game awaits the Arkansas Tech men's basketball team this coming Tuesday and it will be a special occasion as the Wonder Boys will play Arkansas Baptist mid-morning for the third-annual Kids' Day Out Game.

As part of Kids' Day Out, nearly 1,000 elementary school aged kids from the Dardanelle, Dover and Pottsville school districts will be in attendance!

This will be the 14th meeting all-time between Arkansas Tech and Arkansas Baptist in a series that dates back to 1984. It will also be the first meeting since 2005. Overall, the Wonder Boys are 11-2 in the series against the Buffaloes.

Tip-off for Tuesday's game is scheduled for 11 a.m. inside Tucker Coliseum.

TECH(NICALLY) SPEAKING
The Wonder Boys are 6-2 overall this season and extended their winning streak to six games with a 68-65 win on the road at Henderson State this past Saturday.

Statistically, the Wonder Boys average 77.3 ppg and rank fourth in the GAC. On the defensive end of the court, the Wonder Boys rank sixth in the league in scoring defense, giving up an average of 71.3 ppg. In terms of field goal percentage and field goal percentage defense, the Wonder Boys are fifth in the conference as they shoot at an overall clip of .473 (219-of-463) and limit their opponents to a .449 mark (190-of-423) to rank seventh.

From beyond-the-arc, the Wonder Boys shoot at a clip of .413 (66-of-160) to rank second in the GAC while their opponents make three-pointers at a mark of .358 (59-of-165) to rank eighth. From the free throw line, the Wonder Boys shoot .687 as a team (114-of-166) to rank seventh.

Individually, the Wonder Boys have three players averaging double figures in scoring and are led by
Taelon Peter and his 19.9 ppg.
Cassius Brooks and
Seybian Sims are next in scoring at 12.0 ppg, respectively.

Josh Mitchell is the team-leader in rebounding and is averaging 6.9 rebounds per game. In terms of assists,
Brooks leads the team and is averaging 2.9 assists per game.

Defensively, the Wonder Boys are led in steals by
Peter at 2.4 steals per game and in blocks by
Mitchell at 1.3 blocks per game.

The Wonder Boys are coached by
Mark Downey, who is in his fourth season back on the sidelines at Tech after a 10-year hiatus. In his first stint,
Downey patrolled the sidelines at Tech for four seasons from 2006-07 - 2009-10. In his final season,
Downey guided the Wonder Boys to a program-record 30 wins and during that season, the Wonder Boys were ranked No. 1 in NCAA DII for the first time ever.

In his time at Tech, which is now in its eighth season overall,
Downey has amassed a 116-89 record. Overall,
Downey is in his 17th season as a head coach and has career record of 282-195.

SCOUTING THE BUFFALOES
Arkansas Baptist is 3-9 overall this season and are currently on a nine-game losing skid. Their last win came in their conference-opener against Bacone College where they won 84-77.

Statistically, the Buffaloes average 67.0 ppg and rank 13th in the Continental Athletic Conference. On the defensive end of the court, the Buffaloes rank third in the league in scoring defense, giving up an average of 76.4 ppg. In terms of field goal percentage and field goal percentage defense, the Buffaloes are 13th in the conference as they shoot at an overall clip of .395 (258-of-653) and limit their opponents to a .490 mark (338-of-690) to rank 10th.

Eric Bozeman, who is in his second season at Arkansas Baptist. A 1981 alum of Arkansas Tech,
Bozeman is a long-time college coach with stints as a head coach at Northwestern Oklahoma coaching women and at Southern Arkansas coaching the men.
