INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. - Following their 7-4 win over Southern Arkansas in the Great American Conference Tournament championship game, the Arkansas Tech softball team now looks ahead to the NCAA DII Central Region Tournament where they look to compete at a high-level on the national stage.

On Monday morning, the NCAA announced the matchups for the Central Region Tournament on the NCAA Selection Show and the Golden Suns will be in Central Region group #2 and slot in at the No. 6 seed for the tournament and will face No. 3 seed Augustana. On the other side of the bracket in the group, No. 7 Southern Arkansas will face No. 2 Central Oklahoma. The tournament will take place in Edmond, Okla. and will be hosted by UCO at the Broncho Softball Stadium.

The opening game against Ausustana for the Golden Suns will be on Thursday, May 12 with first pitch set for 3:30 p.m. that afternoon. Earlier this season, Arkansas Tech handed Augustana one of their only eight losses on the year back on February 6 where they won 6-3 when Augustana was ranked No. 2 in the country at the time.
