RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. – Seniors shine as the offensive of the Arkansas Tech Golden Suns was on full display as the team hit a season-high and blistering .379 for the match, taking down Southern Arkansas in sweeping fashion, (25-12, 25-10, 25-10). The Golden Suns will take the court for a second time this week, making up a postponed match against Henderson State on Friday in Arkadelphia. First-serve is slated for 6 p.m.

Opening the first set, the teams traded the first few points before the Golden Suns went up 9-5 after kills from
Rilie Vote and
Addison Masters, going up 13-7 after two kills from both
Haylee Paladini and Masters. The Golden Suns forced a Lady Muleriders timeout at 16-9 before Arkansas Tech put together an almost flawless run to end the set. Going on a 9-1 run to take the set 25-12, the Golden Suns had kills from
Mackenzie Eford, Vote and three aces from
Emily Acker to end set one.
Arkansas Tech continued to put pressure on Southern Arkansas from the service line, recording two aces in the first three points from
Madison Grantham. Errors from the Lady Muleriders and back-to-back kills from Eford put the Golden Suns up 9-0. Arkansas Tech put together another 8-1 run shortly after, with kills from
Emily Ragsdale, Vote and an ace from
Maggie Schlueter to go up 21-6. Two more aces from Grantham put the Golden Suns up 24-7 before an kill from
Emma Crenshaw sealed the 25-10 victory in set two.
The Golden Suns traded the first few points of the third set before using a 9-0 run to go up 10-3 after three kills from
Brianna Merkel and two from Eford. The offense kept rolling for the Golden Suns as they went on another 10-2 run to take the set 25-10, after kills from Vote, Paladini, Acker and Crenshaw with another ace fom Grantham ending the match.
Eford and Vote shined in their senior nights leading the match with 10 kills from Eford and eight kills from Vote. Masters put down seven, followed by six from Paladini and five from Ragsdale. Acker dished out a team-high 20 assists, leading an offense where all hitters hit .300 or better on the match. Paladini hit .667 for the match followed by Eford hitting .500. Merkel dished out 15 assists and put down three kills.
Madison Grantham dropped in five aces and picked up 12 digs to lead the Golden Suns.
