The Coleman File

Alma Mater, Year Arkansas Tech, 2012
Record at Arkansas Tech (Years) 73-86 (6 Seasons)
Overall Record (Years) 92-98 (7 Seasons)

Kera (Dukic) Coleman enters into her seventh season as head coach of her alma mater where she earned all-conference and all-region honors as a student-athlete.

In her time as head coach at Tech, Coleman has amassed a 73-86 overall record. With a year of head coaching experience prior to returning to Arkansas Tech, Coleman's overall career record as a head coach is 92-98.

Kera Dukic coaching during TO vs. SAUAfter COVID limited the 2020 campaign to just 10 regular season matches that were played in spring of 2021, the fall of 2021 was the best in the young tenure of Coleman as her Golden Suns finished the campaign 22-8 overall and 13-3 in the Great American Conference. Finishing in a tie for second in the regular season standings that year, but seeded third at the GAC Tournament, Coleman and the Golden Suns pulled off an impressive tournament run and went on to win it and advance to the NCAA Central Region Tournament.

At that regional, the Golden Suns drew nationally-ranked No. 1 Central Missouri in the opening round. The Golden Suns, while losing the match 3-0, were ultra competitive against UCM on their home court.

Off the court, Coleman's teams hae continued to succeed in the classroom and in the community. This past year marked the eighth-straight year in which the Golden Suns earned the AVCA Team Academic Award. In terms of community service, Coleman's Golden Suns routinely log the most community service within the department and also rank in the top-5 nationally through HelperHelper.

Before taking over the reigns at Tech, Coleman enjoyed her first season as a head coach at St. Thomas University (Fla.) where she led the Bobcats to a 19-12 overall record and a 15-1 mark in conference play en route to a regular season championship. Under Coleman's tutelage at St. Thomas, Whitney Battoe was named All-America and The Sun Conference Player of the Year. Three Bobcats were named to the all-conference first team, while her team matched its on-court success with academic success as seven players were named Academic All-Sun Conference.

Prior to her stint at St. Thomas, Coleman spent three seasons as an assistant coach at Central Region rival Central Oklahoma. During her three-year tenure at UCO, the Bronchos went a combined 89-14, with six players earning all-conference honors and one player earning All-America honors in her final season.

Coleman started her coaching career at Arkansas Tech as a graduate assistant under former head coach Kristy Bayer. During her three years on Bayer's staff, Coleman helped the Golden Suns go 87-26, winning two conference titles and advancing to two NCAA tournaments. Coleman earned two all-Gulf South Conference honors during her playing career and was named Daktronics Second Team All-Region as a senior. She was awarded the NCAA Division II Degree Completion Award in 2011.

As a standout setter at Arkansas Tech, Coleman was a part of two league championship teams. She finished her career with 2,693 career assists, ranking fifth all-time in program history.
