Lasker opened the scoring for Tech in the second quarter with a three basket to extend the lead. A layup from senior guard Jayana Sanders made it a 22-18 lead for the Golden Suns. The Pioneers took advantage of their next opportunity from the stripe with Brielle Woods making both of her free throws and a missed layup from Lasker on the other end set up a three point shot for Moyer that put them on top of the Golden Suns 23-22. A layup from Scout Huffman made it a 7-0 run by Texas Woman's leading Tech 25-22 with just under six minutes left in the first half. The Golden Suns quickly made their way back and tied the game after Huffman fouled Lopez on a made layup, which gave Lopez three points on the play after knocking down the and one shot from the line to tie it 25-25.
