WONDER BOYS TAKE DOWN HENDERSON STATE IN TRIPLE OVERTIME

RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. R.J. Glasper had another 35-point performance and dished out 10 assists while Devante Foster and Ke'Lyn Adams turned in double-doubles with 16 points, 13 rebounds and 17 points  with 10 rebounds as the Arkansas Tech Wonder Boys (10-6, 6-4 Great American Conference) took down the Henderson State Reddies (12-4, 7-3) in triple overtime, 126-122.

  • The Wonder Boys will host Southwestern Oklahoma State on Thursday, Jan. 23 at 7:30 p.m. and Northwestern Oklahoma State on Saturday, Jan. 25 at 3 p.m.
HOW IT HAPPENED
  • The teams traded basket early in the first half until the Wonder Boys got some separation after a jumper from Adams put Tech up 34-27 with 4:25 left in the first half.
  • A dunk from Ramses Sandifer gave the Wonder Boys a double-digit lead (39-29) with 2:34 left in the half. Tech led by six, 43-37 going into halftime.
  • Tech controlled the start of the second half, extending its lead to as many as 16 (55-39) with 16:34 left in the second half. The Reddies went on a 19-4 scoring run and came within on (59-58 with 12:10 left.
  • A free throw from Henderson's Chris Parker tied things up 84-84 sending the game into the first overtime period.
  • The Reddies went up by seven to start the first overtime, 91-84 but a Glasper three-pointer tied things up again 96-96 with seven seconds left. The teams traded small leads in the second overtime and were tied 111-111 going into the third and final overtime.
  • The Wonder Boys jumped up seven 121-114 and never let the Reddies pull within two with two free throws from Glasper sealing the 126-122 victory in triple overtime.
NOTABLES
  • The Wonder Boys outshot the Reddies from behind the arc 40 percent to 30 percent and held advantages in turnovers, forcing 17, and assists with 18 over Henderson's 14.
  • Tony Hall, Dillon Gooding and Sandifer joined Glasper, Foster and Adams with double-figure scoring, with 13, 10, and 19 respectively.
  • Gooding dished out four assists.
