ROLLA, Mo. – Anyse Smith turned in a 10-kill performance in her first game as a Golden Sun and Allie Anderson added 9 kills but Arkansas Tech came up short in its season debut, falling 3-0 to the University of Missouri-St. Louis on Thursday night.

HOW IT HAPPENED

• The Golden Suns took a 6-2 lead after back-to-back aces from Smith and a block from Haylee Paladini and Greer Rogers.
• UMSL tied things up at 7-7 before taking a 20-15 advantage and claiming a 25-16 win in the opening set.
• The two teams traded points early in the opening set, with UMSL claiming its largest lead at 23-12 and the set at 25-14.
• UMSL opened a 16-10 lead in the third set, but Tech clawed back to pull within 20-18.
• The Tritons responded by claiming five of the next six points to take the set 25-19.
