KEARNEY, Neb. – Anyse Smith buried 17 kills in the Golden Suns four-set win against University of Mary. Tech had double-digit kills in all four sets and had three players with double-digit digs. The Golden Suns' defense held the Marauders to a .061 hitting percentage, the lowest of any opponent they have played this season.
"Today was a really good rebound for this team," said coach
Kera Dukic. "Things felt really good on and off the court and I'm proud of their focus coming in to today. The University of Mary is a very good team, we were just able to control the game and control our errors."

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The teams traded points early in the set, with Tech tying the game 10-10 with an ace from Megan Solberg.
- The Golden Suns went up 16-12 after a 4-0 run.
- UMary got within one, 18-17, but Tech maintained the lead, taking the first set 25-20.
- Tech jumped out to 9-3 lead, after kills from Greer Rogers and Smith.
- The Golden Suns extended their lead to as many as 14 and took the second set 25-14.
- The Marauders took an early 6-1 lead in the third set but Tech tied things up 6-6 after four kills from Smith.
- The teams went back and forth until UMary went up six and took the third set 25-22.
- Tech got up early in the fourth set, 16-11 but the Marauders fought back within three.
- The Golden Suns ended the fourth set on a 4-1 run, taking the set 25-19 and the match.
