SIX HIT DOUBLE FIGURES AS GOLDEN SUNS DOMINATE CROWLEY'S RIDGE

RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. - Jalei Oglesby scored 21 points off the bench in 14 minutes of pay, leading a cast of six Golden Suns players to reach double figures as the Arkansas Tech Golden Suns basketball team (1-0) opened its 2019-20 season with a 114-36 win over Crowley's Ridge College on Saturday afternoon at Tucker Coliseum.

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • The Golden Suns opened the game on a 15-0 run over the first 3:30. The 15-point lead represented the largest lead of the opening quarter for the Golden Suns. 
  • Tech created more separation in the second half, closing the half on a 10-0 run over the final three minutes to take a 43-point (60-17) lead into the intermission. 
  • Tech led by as many as 59 points (81-22) in the closing minutes of the third quarter, entering the fourth quarter with an 85-28 advantage. 
  • The Golden Suns led by as many as 80 points (114-34) in the final minute of the game. 
NOTABLES
  • Ke'Vonshaye Stackhouse (17 points), Sarah Heard (12 points), Hannah Villines (11 points), Kaley Shipman (11 points), and Ryann Goodsell (10 points) also hit double figures in the win. 
  • Heard led Tech with nine rebounds. 
  • Villines added a team-best seven steals. 
  • Jayana Sanders turned in five assists to lead the Golden Suns. 
  • Tech held a 55-22 rebounding advantage and outshot CRC 58.4 to 20.8 percent for the contest. 
  • Tech held a 43-3 advantage in points off turnovers, a 58-6 advantage in bench points, a 58-4 advantage in bench points, a 29-3 advantage in second-chance points, and a 19-9 advantage in fast-break points.
