Dillon Gooding turned in a 19-point effort,
Devante Foster chipped in 17 points, and RJ Glasper added 14, but the Arkansas Tech Wonder Boys basketball team was unable to overcome the late surge by UT-Arlington, falling 85-68 to the Mavericks in an exhibition contest on Sunday at the College Park Center.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The two teams traded baskets over the first four minutes of the game, with UTA grabbing an early six-point (15-9) advantage at the 16:22 mark.
- The Wonder Boys rallied with seven consecutive points to claim a 16-15 lead with 14:38 remaining in the half.
- UTA reclaimed the lead on the subsequent possession, and opened up an eight-point (34-26) lead with 5:56 remaining in the half, but the Wonder Boys came back again and pulled to within two (36-34) after a 3-pointer by Gooding with 2:55 remaining in the half.
- The Mavs used a 3-point play with six seconds remaining in the half to take a seven-point halftime lead (43-36).
- UTA pushed its lead into double digits in the opening minutes of the second half, leading by as many as 14 (53-39) with 16:32 to play.
- Tech rallied again, cutting the deficit to five (55-50) with 13:10 to play after a 3-point play by Foster.
- UTA used a 9-0 run to push its lead back into double figures, extending the lead out to 14 (64-50) before Tech broke the run with a pair of free throws.
- Tech was unable to pull to within single digits as the Mavs held on for the win.
