Jalei Oglesby turned in a 20-point performance to lead all players, while
Kaley Shipman poured in 11 points off the bench as the Arkansas Tech Golden Suns basketball team (3-1, 1-0 Great American Conference) used a balanced attack to beat Ouachita Baptist (0-4, 0-1) 80-58 on Thursday night at Tucker Coliseum.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The two teams traded leads over the first seven minutes of the contest, but a layup by Oglesby at the 3:53 mark of the opening quarter knotted the game at 10-10, kickstarting a 11-2 run for Arkansas Tech that saw the Golden Suns take a 19-12 lead into the second quarter.
- The second quarter saw Tech quickly extend the lead into double figures (23-12) on another Oglesby jumper at the 9:50 mark before Ouachita rallied to within four (25-21) with 7:29 to play until half. The Tigers cut the deficit to two (27-25) with 5:36 to play until half, but Arkansas Tech outscored OBU 16-8 down the stretch to take a 10-point (43-33) halftime lead.
- The Golden Suns would not look back in the third quarter, grabbing a 21-point (56-35) lead with 5:21 remaining on a 3-pointer b Hannah Villines, entering the fourth quarter with a 26-point (67-41) advantage.
- Tech led by as many as 31 points (72-41) after a Kaley Shipman jumper with 8:11 to play.
NOTABLES
- Tech outshot OBU 51.5 to 34.8 percent from the contest and held a 46-34 rebounding edge.
- Jayana Sanders led Tech with six assists, while Villines contributed a team-best seven rebounds.
- Tech was 5-of-10 from the 3-point line while OBU was 3-of-15.
