GOLDEN SUNS TRAVEL TO WEATHERFORD ON THURSDAY, ALVA ON SATURDAY

RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. – The Arkansas Tech Golden Suns will try to rebound from a tough loss to Henderson State last weekend as they travel to Oklahoma to take on No. 17 Southwestern Oklahoma and Northwestern Oklahoma in Great American Conference action. Tech will be in Weatherford, Okla. on Thursday for a 5:30 p.m. contest with the Bulldogs, before a 1 p.m. match against the Lady Rangers in Alva, Okla. on Saturday.

ALL-TIME SERIES
Tech leads the all-time series 15-13 against Southwestern Oklahoma, however the Lady Bulldogs have won the last two meetings. Last season SWOSU defeated Tech 84-76 in Russellville and 74-62 in Weatherford, Okla. Tech is 4-6 when playing at the Pioneer Cellular Event Center.
 
The Suns hold a 13-1 advantage in the all-time series against Northwestern Oklahoma and have a current nine-game winning-streak against the Lady Rangers. Last season the Golden Suns beat NWOSU 80-45 in Tucker Coliseum and 84-74 in Alva, Okla. Tech is 4-1 when playing in the Percefull Fieldhouse.

SCOUTING THE GOLDEN SUNS
Arkansas Tech (6-10, 3-7 GAC) split its GAC games last week, as the Suns won a 68-67 overtime thriller against Harding, before dropping a 66-55 contest to Henderson State.
 
The Golden Suns have played well defensively over the past five games, holding their opponents to 68 points or fewer in that span. Tech ranks third in the GAC in scoring defense (63.9), field goal percentage defense (36.9%), defensive rebounds (28.2) and blocks per game (3.1). The Golden Suns also rank second in the conference in both rebounding offense (42.0) and turnover margin (+3.94).
 
Ke'Vonshaye Stackhouse and Jacie Higgins are both coming of solid performances against Henderson State as Stackhouse scored a team-high 16 points while going 5-for-13 from the floor. She also added five rebounds, an assists, a block and a steal. Higgins recorded her first career double-double as she scored 11 points and grabbed ten rebounds. Higgins also dished out three assists and three steals.
 
SCOUTING THE LADY BULLDOGS
Southwestern Oklahoma (15-1, 10-0 GAC) enters Thursday's game on a 15-game winning-streak after defeating Northwestern Oklahoma (97-79) on Jan. 17 and Southeastern Oklahoma (93-83) on Jan. 19. SWOSU is the only undefeated team (10-0 GAC) remaining in conference play.  
 
The Lady Bulldogs have the best offensive team in the conference as they are at the top of the GAC in both scoring offense (86.2) and scoring margin (+18.5). Their 86.2 points per game ranks as the fifth best in the country, while their +18.5 scoring margin is ranked 13th in the nation. SWOSU also leads the league in steals per game (12.1) and turnover margin (+9.25).
 
Hailey Tucker, the reigning GAC Player of the Year, is Southwestern's top offensive threat, scoring 19.2 points per game, which is the second best in the GAC. Hayden Priddy (15.6 ppg) and Tyra Aska (14.4 ppg) are also scoring in double figures. The trio of Tucker, Priddy and Aska combine for 57 percent of the Lady Bulldogs scoring. 
 
SCOUTING THE LADY RANGERS
Northwestern Oklahoma (6-11, 3-7 GAC) has lost four of its last five games, but split its two GAC games last week. NWOSU defeated Oklahoma Baptist 67-65, but fell 97-79 to Southwestern Oklahoma.
 
The Lady Rangers rank fourth in the GAC in turnover margin (+2.59), assist/turnover ratio (0.8) and made 3-pointers per game (7.8). NWOSU is also ranked fifth in the conference in 3-point field goal percentage (32.4%), assists per game (12.8) and steals per game (9.0), while also ranking as the second best free throw shooting team in the league (73.2%).
 
Kalea King and Bailey Brown lead the Lady Ranger offense. King scores at a 15.8 clip while Brown adds 13.8 points per game. Brown leads the team in rebounding (7.1 rpg) and field goal percentage (47.9%) and is also ranked fourth in the GAC in free throw shooting (87.5%). Jade Jones runs the offense as her 4.3 assists per game rank as the third best in the conference. Jones has also posted a 1.5 assist/turnover ratio, which is fourth best in the GAC.
