WONDER BOYS BATTLE BULLDOGS AND RANGERS IN OKLAHOMA THIS WEEKEND

RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. – Following a loss on Saturday, the Arkansas Tech Wonder Boys will look to bounce back this weekend as they head to Oklahoma to play Southwestern Oklahoma and Northwestern Oklahoma in Great American Conference action. Tech will travel to Weatherford, Okla. to take on SWOSU at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 24, before playing NWOSU in Alva, Okla. at 3 p.m. on Saturday Jan 26.

ALL-TIME SERIES
Tech leads the all-time series 20-10 against Southwestern Oklahoma, including a current five-game winning-streak. Last season the Wonder Boys defeated SWOSU 88-81 in Tucker Coliseum and 90-81 in Weatherford, Okla. Tech is 3-7 when playing at the Pioneer Cellular Event Center.
 
The Wonder Boys hold a 9-2 advantage in the all-time series against Northwestern Oklahoma. Last Season, the two teams split the series as both home teams came away with wins. Tech defeated NWOSU 86-83 in Tucker Coliseum, but lost 86-67 in Alva, Okla. Tech is 4-1 when playing at the Percefull Field House.

SCOUTING THE WONDER BOYS
Arkansas Tech (4-12, 2-8 GAC) has split its last four games, coming away with wins over Southern Nazarene (85-74) and Harding (86-72) but falling to Oklahoma Baptist (99-63) and Henderson State (84-80).
 
The Wonder Boys have had no trouble scoring points this season as their 79.1 scoring offense ranks as the third best in the GAC. Tech has secured the top spot at free throw shooting, as their 74.9 percent from the line is a conference best. The Wonder Boys are also ranked third in the league in assists per game (14.8), turnover margin (+1.0) and assists/turnover ratio (1.4).
 
Tech has lived and died by the 3-pointer this season. They lead the conference in made 3-pointers (203) and made 3-point field goals per game (12.7), while their 36.1 shooting percentage from behind the arc ranks as the fourth best in the GAC. Will Adler is the Wonder Boys top threat from behind the line as his 62 made 3-pointers is a team-high. However, Alex Brown shoots at the highest percentage from deep at 45.3 percent.   
 
 
SCOUTING THE BULLDOGS
Southwestern Oklahoma (3-13, 0-10 GAC) enters Thursday's game on a six-game losing streak. SWOSU's most recent losses came at the hands of Northwestern Oklahoma (77-61) on Jan. 17 and Southeastern Oklahoma (86-73) on Jan. 19.
 
The Bulldogs rank third in the GAC in both made 3-pointers (150) and 3-pointers per game (9.4). SWOSU is also ranked fifth in free throw percentage (71%) and sixth in scoring offense (78.4) and steals per game (6.9).   
 
Tre Evans, the GAC's leading scorer, leads the Bulldog offense, scoring 21.7 points per game. Evans also leads the team in rebounding (7.1) and assists (4.2). Jamar Sandifer is also scoring in double-figures at 16.6 points per game. SWOSU has seven players that have made at least ten 3-pointers this season, led by Evans and Daniel Eibel who each have 25 made 3-pointers. 
 
SCOUTING THE RANGERS
Northwestern Oklahoma (4-12, 2-8 GAC) has lost five of its last six games, the one win came last week with a 77-61 win over Southwestern Oklahoma on Jan. 17. More recently, the Rangers are coming off a double-overtime loss to Oklahoma Baptist (97-91) on Jan. 19.
 
The Rangers are ranked in the top-five in the GAC in 3-point field goal defense (35.5%), blocks per game (3.3), steals per game (7.2) and offensive rebounds per game (12.4).
 
Treyvon Andres leads the Northwestern offense, scoring 15.5 points per game while shooting 46.9 percent from the floor and 40.4 percent from behind the arc. Andres also averages a team-high 8.5 rebounds per game. Joseph Moorer and Jack Peck are also averaging double-figures as Moorer scores 13.3 points per game while Peck adds 10.9 points per game. A.J. Jones runs the Ranger offense and leads the GAC with 5.9 assists per game. Jones also leads the conference with 2.8 steals per game.
