WONDER BOYS SET TO PLAY BISONS AND REDDIES

RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. – The Arkansas Tech Wonder Boys will look to get back in the win column this weekend as they take on Harding and Henderson State in Great American Conference action. The Wonder Boys will be in Searcy, Ark. on Thursday for a 7:30 p.m. contest with the Bisons, before a 3 p.m. match against the Reddies in Arkadelphia, Ark. on Saturday.

ALL-TIME SERIES
Tech leads the all-time series 74-57 against Harding, including a current three-game winning-streak. Last season the Wonder Boys defeated Harding 98-94 in Searcy and 70-63 in Tucker Coliseum. However, Tech is 24-32 when playing a Rhodes-Reaves Field House.
 
Henderson State holds an 81-75 advantage in the all-time series against Tech and have also won the last three and six of the last nine matchups. Earlier this season the Reddies handed the Wonder Boys their second GAC loss of the season as HSU defeated Tech 80-79 in Tucker Coliseum. Tech is 31-46 when playing in the Duke Wells Center.

SCOUTING THE WONDER BOYS
Arkansas Tech (3-11, 1-7 GAC) is in the middle of a tough stretch as it has now lost nine of its last ten games, with its most recent loss coming with a 99-63 loss to Oklahoma Baptist in Tucker Coliseum on Jan. 12. However, prior to that loss, the Wonder Boys snapped an eight-game skid with an 85-74 upset over then No. 15 Southern Nazarene on Jan. 10.
 
The trio of R.J. Glasper, Will Adler, and Alex Brown have accounted for 61 percent of the Wonder Boys scoring this season as Glasper's 19.4 points per game leads the team and is also ranked third in the GAC. Alder ranks eighth in the conference (15.6 ppg), while Brown is 16th (13.0 ppg).
 
The Wonder Boys will look shoot at a higher percentage this weekend as they are coming off their worst shooting performance of the season. Tech shot 32 percent (24-for-75) from the floor and 26.3 percent (10-for-38) from 3-point range in their loss to Oklahoma Baptist.  
 
SCOUTING THE BISONS
Harding (5-9, 3-5 GAC) enters Thursday's game on a six-game losing streak. HU's most recent losses came at the hands of No. 15 Southern Nazarene (85-60) on Jan. 12 and Oklahoma Baptist (70-67) on Jan. 10.
 
The Bisons are active on defense as they ranked second in the conference with 7.6 steals per game. HU is also ranked fourth in the GAC in turnover margin (+1.00).
 
JV Long paces the Harding offense, scoring 12.3 points per game while shooting 48.1 percent from the floor. Long also has team-highs in assists (3.5 apg), steals (1.5 spg) and is tied for the team-lead in rebounding at 5.1 boards per game. Romen Martin is the only other Harding player averaging double-figures in scoring at 10.3 points per game. Martin is shooting a team-high 47.4 (18-38) percent from behind the 3-point line.
 
SCOUTING THE REDDIES
Henderson State (10-5, 5-4 GAC) is on a current two-game winning streak after picking up victories over Northwestern Oklahoma (85-73) and Southwestern Oklahoma (70-62) this past weekend. The Reddies will play Ouachita (6-6, 3-5 GAC) on Thursday before hosting Tech on Saturday.
 
The Reddies are ranked in the top-five in the GAC in majority of the defensive categories as they rank fifth in scoring defense (72.8 ppg), fourth in field goal percentage defense (42.0%), fourth in 3-point field goal percentage defense (33.6%), fifth in rebounding defense (34.4 rpg), and second in turnover margin (+1.47).  
 
Rel Johnson leads the Henderson offense, scoring 12.5 points per game while shooting 45.9 percent from the floor and 42.2 percent from behind the arc. Chris Parker and Joshua Jones are also averaging double-figures as Parker scores 12.2 points per game while Jones adds 10.5 points per game. Parker also averages a team-high 2.7 assists per game and has made a team-high 28 3-pointers.
