Mackenzie Eford turned in a ten kill performance as the Arkansas Tech Golden Suns volleyball team (12-7, 5-2 Great American Conference) defeated East Central (0-19, 0-6) 3-0 in straight sets on Saturday afternoon at Tucker Coliseum.

- Arkansas Tech will take the court again next Friday in Alva, Okla., as Northwestern Oklahoma State hosts the Golden Suns at 6 p.m.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- East Central opened the match on a 6-2 run and was able to maintain that lead midway through the opening set as Tech tied the score at 9-9 and 11-11.
- After trailing the Tigers 14-12, the Suns scored 11 of the next 12 points to take a 23-15 lead.
- The Tigers scored three straight point to cut the lead to 24-19, but an ECU service error gave Arkansas Tech the 25-19 victory.
- Tech jumped out to an early 2-0 lead and didn't look back as they never trailed in the second set. The Suns tallied 14 kills, including six from Anderson, which allowed Arkansas Tech to take a 2-0 lead with a 25-22 win.
- Arkansas Tech jumped out to a 10-4 lead in the final set and later saw it lead grow to 14-7. The Tiger rallied with an 11-6 run to trim the Tech lead to 20-18.
- The Golden Suns closed the match out by scoring five of the next seven points, capped by a Tabitha Spray kill to seal the win.
- Tech's best set offensively came in the third set, as the Golden Suns hit .283 as a team with just five attack errors. The Suns also limited ECU to a .135 hitting percentage with 11 kills.
- For the match, Arkansas Tech hit .262, while ECU hit just .155. Tech tallied 47 kills, as five different Golden Suns recorded at least five kills.
