WONDER BOYS HOST NO. 14 SOUTHERN NAZARENE AND OKLAHOMA BAPTIST THIS WEEKEND

RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. – Following a bounce-back win over Southwestern Oklahoma, the Arkansas Tech Wonder Boys basketball team will look to string together a pair of wins this weekend, as Tech takes on No. 14 Southern Nazarene and Oklahoma Baptist in Great American Conference action. The Wonder Boys will host the Crimson Storm on Thursday at 7:30 p.m. and take on the Bison at 3 p.m. on Saturday.

PROGRESSIVE SHOT CHALLENGE
At halftime of the men's game, one lucky student will have a chance to participate in the Progressive Shot Challenge, for a chance to win $10,000.

ALL-TIME SERIES
In a series that started in 1983, Tech leads the all-time series against Southern Nazarene, 5-4. The Crimson Storm have won three of the last four matchups, including an 85-82 win earlier this season. However, Southern Nazarene has never won inside Tucker Coliseum as the Wonder Boys are a perfect 4-0 against SNU at home.
 
Oklahoma Baptist holds a 5-2 advantage in the all-time series against Tech. After the Bison took the first five games of the all-time series, the Wonder Boys have won the last two, including an 87-84 earlier this season.
 
SCOUTING THE WONDER BOYS
Arkansas Tech (14-7, 8-7 GAC) has won three of its last four games, including a 90-81 win over Southwestern Oklahoma on Feb. 3. Tech currently sits in fifth place in the GAC standings.
 
The Wonder Boys lead the conference and rank 13th in Division II in 3-point field goals per game (11.5). Tech is also ranked 13th in the country in 3-point field goal defense (31.1). The Wonder Boys hold the top spot in the GAC and rank 17th in Division II in made 3-pointers (241).
 
R.J. Glasper leads the Wonder Boys with 19.0 points per game. Glasper ranks second in the GAC in scoring and is seventh in steals. Glasper's 0.921 free throw percentage not only leads the conference, but is also the eighth best in the country. Montrell Williams and Alex Brown lead Tech in rebounding. Williams is ranked seventh (6.4) in the GAC in rebounding, while Brown is ranked eighth (6.3). Freddy Lee leads the GAC and is ranked eighth in the country with a 3.39 assist-to-turnover ratio.
 
SCOUTING THE CRIMSON STORM
No. 14 Southern Nazarene (18-1, 15-0 GAC) is riding a 14-game winning streak and is a perfect 15-0 in conference play. SNU's lone loss of the season came back on Nov. 25, with a 69-76 loss to Oklahoma Christian.

The Crimson Storm boast one of the better defenses in the GAC as they lead the conference in scoring defense (65.6), field goal percentage defense (.387), 3-point field goal percentage defense (.307), and blocks per game (5.5). SNU is the only team in the GAC to have two players averaging over 17.0 points per game as Jhonathan Dunn ranks fourth in the GAC with 18.4 while Micah Speight ranks seventh with 17.8.
 
In the first contest between Tech and SNU this season, Noah Starkey dominated down low for the Crimson Storm. Starkey scored 23 points inside, helping SNU outscored the Wonder Boys, 42-36, on points in the paint and allowing Southern Nazarene to take the three-point victory.
 
SCOUTING THE BISON
Oklahoma Baptist (9-12, 6-9 GAC) has lost three of its last four games, including a 79-73 loss to Ouachita on Feb. 3. The Bison are ranked tenth in the GAC standings.
 
The Bison rank second in the conference in made 3-pointers (212) and third in made 3-pointers per game (10.1). Oklahoma Baptist leads the conference in blocks (105), is second in blocks per game (5.0) and is third in assist/turnover ratio (1.3).

On offense, the Bison is led by Chandler Rickey's 18.3 points per game and Travon Moore's 11.9 points per game. Rickey leads the GAC in blocks, is ranked fourth in rebounding (7.0) and fourth in field goal percentage (.574). Vladimir Nemcok runs the Bison offense, as he leads the GAC in assists (134) and assists per game (6.4). Nemcok is also ranked fourth in assist/turnover ratio (2.6) and tenth in free throw percentage (.812).
