RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. – The Arkansas Tech Golden Suns look to clinch the second seed in the Great American Conference Championships with the final two games of the regular season this weekend. Tech travels to Arkadelphia, Ark. for a Thursday-night contest with Ouachita at 5:30 p.m. before hosting Arkansas-Monticello in Tucker Coliseum for senior day at 1 p.m. on Saturday.

ALL-TIME SERIES
Arkansas Tech leads the all-time series against Ouachita, 58-14, including an 84-67 win earlier this season. Tech has a current nine-game winning-streak against the Lady Tigers and is 31-3 against OUA at home. Against Arkansas-Monticello, the Golden Suns hold a 63-24 advantage after an 84-66 victory in January. Tech has a current 20-game winning-streak against the Cotton Blossoms and are 34-6 against UAM in Tucker Coliseum.
SCOUTING THE GOLDEN SUNS
Arkansas Tech (21-3, 17-3 GAC) has won five straight games, highlighted by a 56-54 win over Harding Monday night. The Suns currently sit in second in the GAC standings, two games behind Southwestern Oklahoma State and two games ahead of Henderson State.
Tech finds itself leading the conference in a plethora of categories. The Golden Suns lead the GAC in field goal percentage defense (36.6), offensive rebounds per game (16.0), scoring margin (+13.6), steals (252), steals per game (11.0), turnover margin (+3.96) and forced turnovers per game (19.7). The Golden Suns also lead the conference and are ranked eighth in Division II in rebounds per game (45.22).
Jayana Sanders leads a cast of five Golden Sun scorers who all average ten points per game or more. Sanders averages 14.1 points per game,
Lyrik Williams is scoring 12.7 points per game,
Ke'Vonshaye Stackhouse adds 11.4 points per game,
Kylie Ladd chips in 10.7 points per game and
Cheyenne North scores 10.3 points per game. Tech is the only school in the GAC to have five players averaging over ten points per game. Ladd leads the conference in steals (3.1) and is ranked second in assist/turnover ratio (1.7). Ladd's 3.1 steals per game is ranked 14
th in Division II.
North ranks second in the conference in rebounding (8.8) and blocks (2.8). North's 2.8 blocks per game also ranks 19
th in the country. North will be playing in her final game in Tucker Coliseum on Saturday. In her two years at Tech, North has started 46 of the 51 games she has played in, scored 545 points, grabbed 419 rebounds, blocked 125 shots and recorded 145 assists.
McKenzie Morris will also be playing in her final game at Tucker Coliseum on Saturday. In her three years at Tech Morris has played in 46 games, scored 39 points, grabbed 46 rebounds and recorded seven assists.
SCOUTING THE LADY TIGERS
Ouachita (13-13, 9-11 GAC) has lost three of its last four games, including a 71-64 loss to Henderson State on Tuesday night. The Lady Tigers are currently in sixth place in the GAC standings.
The Tigers rank third in the GAC in assists per game (14.2), fifth in blocked shots per game (3.6) and fifth in 3-point field goal percentage (.343). Chasidee Owens ranks 24
th in the conference with a team-high 10.7 points per game. Owens also ranks ninth in the GAC in field goal percentage (.475) and 17
th in rebounding (5.5). Madison Brittain averages 9.4 points and averages 2.1 made 3-pointers per game, which ranks as the ninth best in the conference. Senior Morgan Miller ranks fourth in the GAC in 3-point field goal percentage (.415).
In Tech's 84-67 victory over the Lady Tigers in January, Ouachita had four players reach double-figures in scoring, led by Owens with 12 points, followed by Brittain with ten, Alivia Huell added ten and Shakyla Begnaud scored ten as well.
Lyrik Williams led all scorers with 20 points.
SCOUTING THE COTTON BLOSSOMS
Arkansas-Monticello (7-18, 3-17 GAC) enters the final weekend of regular season play on an eight-game losing streak. The Cotton Blossoms most recent loss came at the hands of Southern Arkansas as the Lady Muleriders defeated Monticello 91-85 on Tuesday night. The Cotton Blossoms are in last place in the GAC standings.
Monticello ranks third in the conference in steals (239), third in steals per game (9.6) and fourth in turnover margin (+2.28). Brittnee Broadway leads the Cotton Blossom offense, scoring 12.8 points per game, which ranks 16
th in the GAC. Broadway also ranks fifth in the conference in steals (2.0) and sixth in assists (3.8).
The Golden Suns grabbed an 18-point win over Arkansas-Monticello earlier this season after holding the Storm to just 34.9 percent shooting from the field.
Ke'Vonshaye Stackhouse led all scorers with a career-high 26 points.
Kylie Ladd followed with a career-high 22 points and a career-high nine assists.
