WONDER BOYS COMPLETE SEASON SWEEP OF HARDING

RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. – RJ Glasper scored a game-high 21 points and grabbed a career-high 11 rebounds as the Arkansas Tech Wonder Boys battled to beat Harding 70-63 on Monday night in Tucker Coliseum.

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • Harding (5-20, 5-15 GAC) took the first lead of the contest with a three on the Bisons' first possession, and extended their lead to 10-4 at the 16:22 minute mark.
  • Tech took its first lead after Freddy Lee capped a 10-3 run with a 3-pointer (14-13). The Wonder Boys kept their run going, as they scored the next eight points to take an eight point advantage (21-13) with 11:12 remaining in the opening half.
  • Tech took its largest lead of nine on a Montrell Williams dunk and a pair of Glasper free throws with 7:51 left in the first half. The Bisons immediately responded, however, with an 11-2 run to take a 30-29 with a little over four minutes remaining in the period. 
  • The Wonder Boys closed the first half on a 7-0 run to give Tech a six point advantage at the break (36-30).
  • Tech opened the second half on an 11-2 run, highlighted by four straight point from Alex Brown to build a 15-point lead (47-32).
  • Harding however, would not go away as it responded with an 18-5 run to trim Tech's lead to two points (52-50) with 8:55 remaining in the game.
  • The Bisons tied the game up at 55-55 after Tyler Roth hit a layup. Montrell Williams answered for the Wonder Boys as he scored four straight points, capped by a thunderous dunk to give Tech a three point lead (61-58) with 3:14 remaining in regulation.   
  • HU cut the lead to one point on two occasions in the final three minutes (61-60, 63-62) however, the Wonder Boys closed the game out on a 7-0 run to finalize the victory, giving Tech the season sweep of the Bisons.
NOTABLES
  • Tech shot 41.3 percent from the floor in the game and 33.3 percent from three-point range. HU shot 41.1 percent from the field and 33.5 percent from behind the arc.
  • Arkansas Tech outscored Harding 21-12 on point off of turnovers. The Wonder Boys forced 13 turnovers. Tech out rebounded HU 39-36.
  • Glasper finished with a game-high 21 points for the Wonder Boys, his 12th 20-point performance of the season. Glasper also grabbed a career-high 11 rebounds and recorded his third double-double in the last four games.
  • Brown followed Glasper in scoring with 13 points, Josiah Thomas added 12 points and Williams finished with 11.
  • Williams grabbed 8 rebounds and Brown tallied seven rebounds.
