RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. – The Arkansas Tech men's basketball team will look to knot up the season series with Southern Arkansas and Henderson State as the Wonder Boys head to Magnolia, Ark. to face the Muleriders on Thursday at 7:30 p.m. before returning to Tucker Coliseum to host the Reddies on Saturday at 3 p.m.

ALL-TIME SERIES
In a series that started in 1928, Tech leads the all-time series against Southern Arkansas, 95-70. The Muleriders won 80-76 in Russellville, Ark. earlier this season. Prior to that loss, the Wonder Boys had won four straight and 19 of the last 22 meetings. Tech is 30-44 when they face the Muleriders in the W.T. Watson Center in Magnolia, Ark.
Henderson State holds a 79-75 advantage in the all-time series against Tech. The Reddies beat Tech 106-96 in Arkadelphia, Ark. earlier this season. The Wonder Boys are 40-35 against HSU in Tucker Coliseum.
SCOUTING THE WONDER BOYS
Arkansas Tech (15-8, 9-8 GAC) has won four of its last six games, including a 97-67 win over Oklahoma Baptist on Feb. 10. Tech currently sits in fifth place in the GAC standings.
The Wonder Boys lead the conference and ranks eighth in Division II in 3-point field goal defense (30.7). Tech is also ranked 11
th in the country in 3-point field goals per game (11.8). The Wonder Boys hold the top spot in the GAC and rank 12
th in Division II in made 3-pointers (271).
The Wonder Boys will try to ride the hot hands of
Alex Brown this weekend. Brown, the reigning GAC player of the week, is coming off a 41-point, 10-rebound performance in the Wonder Boys 97-67 win over Oklahoma Baptist. Brown's 41 points are the sixth most points scored in a single-game in GAC history. Brown went 14-for-24 from the field and 12-for-20 from behind the arc. Brown's 12 made 3-pointers ranks as the most in a single-game in both school and GAC history.
R.J. Glasper leads the Wonder Boys in scoring with 19.0 points per game. Glasper ranks second in the GAC in scoring and is seventh in steals (1.6). Glasper's 0.921 free throw percentage not only leads the conference, but is also the sixth best in the country.
Freddy Lee leads the GAC and is ranked sixth in the country with a 3.37 assist-to-turnover ratio.
SCOUTING THE MULERIDERS
Southern Arkansas (12-11, 8-9 GAC) has lost four of its last five games, including a 65-63 loss or Northwestern Oklahoma on Feb. 10. The Muleriders are ranked seventh in the GAC standings.
The Muleriders are the best rebounding team in the conference as they lead the GAC in rebounding offense (41.3), rebounding margin (+6.9), offensive rebounds (13.1), and defensive rebounds (28.2). SAU also ranks second in the conference in field goal percentage defense (.404) and third in scoring defense (72.0). The trio of CJ Elkins, Keeton Tennison and Draylan Perkins lead the Southern Arkansas offense. Elkins leads with 13.5 points per game, while Tennison scores 12.1 points per game and Perkins follows with 11.1 points per game. Tennison also ranks second in the GAC in 3-point field goal percentage (.523) and sixth in made 3-point field goals per game (2.7).
In the first contest between Tech and SAU this season, Elkins dominated the game for the Muleriders. Elkins scored 21 points, grabbed eight rebounds and dished out eight assists to help Southern Arkansas take the four-point victory.
SCOUTING THE REDDIES
Henderson State (12-11, 7-10 GAC) has lost three of its last four games, including a 102-88 loss to East Central on Feb. 10. The Reddies are ranked eighth in the GAC standings.
Henderson State is the best free throw shooting team in the conference, shooting 78.2 percent from the charity stripe. HSU is also just one of four teams in the GAC to average over 81.0 points per game. The Reddies rank second in the conference in turnover margin (+1.86), fourth in blocks (4.0), and sixth in steals (7.0).
On offense, HSU is led by the GAC's leading scorer, Kaylon Tappin (19.3). Tappin also ranks third in the GAC in free throw percentage (.866) and 11
th in steals (1.4). Josh Jones and Chris Parker are the Reddies second and third options of offense as Jones averages 13.9 points per game, while Parker averages 13.2 points per game. In the Reddies rought of the Wonder Boys earlier this season, Tappin scored a game-high 25 points, Jones scored 20 points and Parker added 16 points. Henderson State went 21-for-27 from the free throw line, while holding Tech to 5-for-8 in their 106-96 win.
