GREYHOUNDS RALLY PAST WONDER BOYS

PLANO, Texas– A 25-point, nine-board effort by Will Adler and a 14-point, nine-board effort by Ramses Sandifer were not enough for the Arkansas Tech Wonder Boys basketball team (2-5), as Tech was unable to hold off a late Eastern New Mexico rally, falling 77-69 to the Greyhounds (4-4) on Tuesday.

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • Eastern New Mexico got on the board with a pair of free throws ten seconds into the contest, but the Wonder Boys claimed their first lead of the contest at the 19:37 mark on a 3-pointer by Will Adler
  • ENMU briefly reclaimed a lead at the 16:17 mark of the half (10-9), but a Sandifer jumper kickstarted an 8-0 run that saw Tech push its lead to 17-10 with 13:23 to play in the half. 
  • ENMU outscored Tech 10-2 over the next four minutes to grab a 20-19 advantage with 9:28 to play.
  • A 10-0 run by the Wonder Boys gave Tech a nine-point lead (29-20) with 6:40 remaining in the half – Tech's largest lead of the game, and the Wonder Boys would hold on to a lead through the remainder of the half, going into the break with a two-point (39-37) advantage.
  • Tech led until the 10:08 mark of the second half when ENMU broke a tie with a fast-break layup to go ahead 60-58. 
  • The two teams traded leads four times, but after a 3-pointer by Sandifer with 6:10 to play gave Tech a three-point (67-64) advantage, the Wonder Boys did not score for nearly five minutes and were outscored 13-2 down the stretch as ENMU rallied for the win.

  • Adler's 25 points led all players.
  • Freddy Lee and RJ Glasper had six assists apiece. 
  • Tech was outshot 41.7 to 33.3 percent for the contest as the Wonder Boys were held to 27.5 percent from the floor in the second half. 
  • Tech was outrebounded 46-41. 
  • Tech held a 17-14 advantage in points off turnovers and a 13-10 advantage in second-chance points, as well as a 9-8 advantage in fast-break points, but ENMU held a 30-14 advantage in paint points and a 48-28 advantage in bench points.
