Jacie Higgins turned in a 16 point, eight rebound performance, while
Ke'Vonshaye Stackhouse and Lyrik Williams both scored 16 points apiece
as the Arkansas Tech Golden Suns basketball team (4-4, 2-2 Great American Conference) rolled to a 74-52 win over Southern Arkansas (1-7, 0-4) on Wednesday evening at Tucker Coliseum.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Arkansas Tech opened the game hot, jumping out to an early 13-2 leading in the first five minutes of play.
- The Suns ended the first quarter on a 6-0 run to take a 20-6 lead into the second quarter.
- After trading baskets in the first five possessions of the second quarter, the Lady Muleriders put together a 10-2 run to trim the deficit back to single digits (28-21) with 5:25 remaining in the first half.
- Ryan Goodsell pushed the lead back to double digits (31-21) after converting on a three point play on the following possession.
- Tech outscored SAU 6-4 in the final five minutes of the first half to take a 37-25 lead into the break.
- The Suns were able to create separation in the third quarter as they saw their lead grow to 17 points (44-27) after three minutes of play.
- Southern Arkansas managed to cut the lead to 16 on three occasions, yet Tech had an answer for every SAU run and took a 55-37 lead into the fourth quarter.
- Tech outscored SAU 19-15 in the fourth quarter. The Suns used the help of an 11-2 run to stretch their lead to as many as 25 points (74-49) before completing the game with a 74-52 win.
NOTABLES
- Tech held a 21-8 advantage in points off turnovers, and a 20-7 advantage in second chance points.
- Tech also won the battle inside as they out rebounded SAU 40-31 and held a 52-30 advantage in points in the paint.
- Tech outshot SAU 47.6 to 37.7 percent, with Tech's most productive quarter coming in the fourth as the Suns shot 54.5 percent (6-for-11).
- Jayana Sanders led Tech with five assists.
- Stackhouse also grabbed seven rebounds, followed by Williams and Hannah Villines with six.
