WONDER BOYS FALL TO TIGERS

ARKADELPHIA, Ark.R.J. Glasper turned in a 25-point, 10-assist, five-rebound effort, while Will Adler poured in 21 points, but the Arkansas Tech Wonder Boys basketball team (2-3, 0-1 Great American Conference) was unable to overcome the red-hot shooting of the Ouachita Baptist Tigers (4-1, 1-0), falling 86-81 on Thursday night inside Vining Arena.

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • Ouachita got off to a red-hot start, opening the game on an 11-2 run over the first 2:13 of the contest.
  • The Tigers used a 12-0 run to push its lead out to 27-10 with 12:56 remaining in the opening half. 
  • Ouachita claimed its biggest lead of the contest at 18 points with 9:46 to play in the first half.
  • With OBU holding on to a 35-18 advantage with 8:39 to play, the Wonder Boys outscored OBU 12-2 over the next five minutes to pull to within 37-30 with 3:46 remaining until halftime.
  • Will Adler's 3-pointer with 45 seconds remaining in the half cut the Tech deficit to four (37-33) at the break.
  • Adler buried a 3-pointer at the 15:54 mark of the second half to give Tech a 46-44 advantage. Ouachita tied the game on the subsequent possession to send the game into the under-16 media timeout tied at 46-46.
  • The Wonder Boys pushed ahead by four (53-49) with 13:42 remaining, but a 7-0 run by Ouachita gave the Tigers a 56-53 advantage with 11:03 to play.
  • Tech cut the deficit to two (64-62) with 6:39 to play on another Adler 3-pointer, but the Tigers outscored Tech 12-4 over the next five minutes to push ahead by nine (76-66) with 1:48 to play.
  • A pair of Wonder Boys 3-pointers sandwiched a pair of Ouachita free throws to pull Tech to within six (78-72) with 1:10 remaining. 
  • R.J. Glasper hit a long 3-pointer with 43.5 seconds remaining to pull Tech to within three (81-78).
NOTABLES
  • OBU outshot Tech 48.3 to 42.0 percent for the contest, shooting at a 51.7 percent clip in the second half.
  • The Tigers made the most of their 3-point attempts, connecting on 51.9 percent (14-of-27) of their long-range shots.
  • Ouachita held a 40-32 advantage on the rebounding glass.
  • The two teams were even in points in the paint (22-22), while Tech held a 17-9 advantage in second-chance points.
  • OBU held a 21-16 advantage on fast-break points and a 10-8 advantage on points off turnovers.
  • Alex Brown added 14 points in the game.
