GOLDEN SUNS TRAVEL TO OKLAHOMA FOR WEEKEND GAMES

RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. – Arkansas Tech women's basketball travel to Oklahoma this weekend as the Golden Suns take on Northwestern Oklahoma State at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday, in Alva Okla., before heading to Weatherford, Okla. to take on Southwestern Oklahoma State at 11 a.m. on Saturday.

ALL-TIME SERIES
Arkansas Tech holds a 12-1 edge over Northwestern in the all-time series that started in 1992. The Golden Suns have won eight straight against the Lady Rangers, including an 80-45 win over Northwestern earlier this season. Tech is 3-1 all-time against the Lady Rangers in Alva, Okla.
 
Against Southwestern Oklahoma, Arkansas Tech leads the all-time series, 15-10. However, the Lady Bulldogs have hold the advantage as of late as SWOSU has won three of the last four meetings. Prior to that, the Golden Suns had won six straight and ten of the last 11 meetings. Earlier this season Southwestern defeated Tech 84-76 in Tucker Coliseum. Tech is 4-4 against the Lady Bulldogs in Weatherford Okla.
 
SCOUTING THE GOLDEN SUNS
Arkansas Tech (15-2, 11-2 GAC) has won six straight games and 11 of its last 12 contests. The Golden Suns are ranked second in the GAC standings, sitting two games behind Southwestern Oklahoma.
 
The Golden Suns find themselves atop the conference in scoring margin (+14.8), rebounding offense (45.0), steals (11.5), turnover margin (+4.06), and offensive rebounds (15.9). Tech is averaging 79.7 points per game, which ranks as the 13th-best in Division II. The Golden Suns are also ranked 16th in the country in rebounds (44.59).
 
Jayana Sanders paces Tech with 15.1 points per game, followed by Ke'Vonshaye Stackhouse with 12.9 points and Lyrik Williams with 12.9 points. Cheyenne North leads the Golden Suns in rebounding at 8.1 per game, which ranks sixth in the GAC. North is also second in the conference and ranks 22nd in Division II with 2.47 blocks per game. Kylie Ladd leads the GAC and is ranked tenth in Division II with 3.29 steals per game. Lass also leads the conference in assist/turnover ratio (1.80 and in ranked ninth in assists per game (3.3).
 
SCOUTING THE LADY RANGERS
Northwestern Oklahoma (9-10, 5-8 GAC) has lost four of its last five games, including a 78-61 loss to Henderson State on Jan. 27. The Lady Rangers are ranked sixth in the GAC standings. 
 
Northwestern is ranked second in the GAC in offensive rebounds per game (14.1) and fourth in the conference in scoring offense (71.7). Jade Jones leads Northwestern in scoring and is ranked 11th in the GAC at 13.9 points per game. Jones also leads the conference in assists (5.7) and is fourth in assist/turnover ratio (1.7). Selena McDonald leads the GAC in field goal percentage (.710) is ranked seventh in rebounding (7.3) and fourth in blocks (1.6).
 
SCOUTING THE LADY BULLDOGS
No. 11 Southwestern Oklahoma (18-1, 13-0 GAC) is riding a ten game winning-streak. The only loss the Lady Bulldogs have suffered this season came back on Dec. 7, when No. 5 Lubbock Christian defeated Southwestern 95-65. The Lady Bulldogs are ranked first in the GAC standings.
 
Southwestern leads the conference and is ranked fourth in Division II in scoring at 84.9 points per game. SWOSU also leads the conference in 3-point field goal percentage and 3-pointers made. The Lady Bulldogs' 8.7 made 3-pointers a game ranks 14th in the country, while their 37.3 3-point field goal percentage ranks 15th in the country.
 
Hailey Tucker leads Southwestern as is ranked first in the conference and 12th in the nation in scoring at 20.7 points per game. Tucker also ranks third in the GAC in blocks (2.0), seventh in made 3-pointers per game (2.3), seventh in rebounding (8.0), eighth in 3-point field goal percentage (.400) and eighth in free throw percentage (.819). Hayden Priddy is ranked fifth in the GAC in scoring at 15.2 points per game, while Tyra Asks is ranked ninth in the conference in scoring at 14.0 points per game. Southwestern is the only school in the conference to have three players ranked in the top ten in scoring.
