WONDER BOYS READY FOR RANGERS AND BULLDOGS

RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. – The Arkansas Tech Wonder Boys will look for their third and fourth consecutive wins this weekend, as Tech takes on Northwestern Oklahoma State and Southwestern Oklahoma State in Great American Conference action. The Wonder Boys will be in Alva, Okla. on Thursday for a 7:30 p.m. with the Rangers, before a 1 p.m. match against the Bulldogs in Weatherford, Okla. on Saturday.

ALL-TIME SERIES
In a series that started in 1971, Tech leads the all-time series against Northwestern, 9-1. After falling to the Rangers in the very first meeting (89-79), the Wonder Boys have nine consecutive meetings and are 4-0 against Northwestern in Alva, Okla. Tech took the first meeting earlier this season with an 86-83 win for the Wonder Boys in Tucker Coliseum.
 
Tech holds a 19-10 advantage in the all-time series against Southwestern that began in 1980. The Wonder Boys have a current four-game winning-streak over the Bulldogs and have also won eight of the last nine meetings. Tech's defeated Southwestern 88-81 earlier this season in Tucker Coliseum.
 
SCOUTING THE WONDER BOYS
After a stretch that saw Arkansas Tech (13-6, 7-6 GAC) drop five of its six contests, the Wonder Boys have rallied with two straight wins. Tech now sits 13-6 overall and 7-6 in conference play, putting the Wonder Boys in a tie for fifth with Arkansas-Monticello and Southern Arkansas in the GAC standings.
 
The Wonder Boys lead the conference and rank 15th in Division II in scoring at 87.9 points per game. Tech also ranks second in GAC and eighth in the country in free throw percentage (.776). The Wonder Boys also lead the GAC and rank tenth in Division II in made 3-pointers per game, averaging 11.7 3-pointers a game.
 
R.J. Glasper leads the Wonder Boys with 18.2 points per game. Glasper ranks fourth in the GAC in scoring and is fifth in steals. Glasper's 0.940 free throw percentage not only leads the conference, but is also the fourth best in the country. Montrell Williams is coming off a career-high rebounding game as he grabbed 15 boards in Tech's win over East Central. Williams is ranked ninth in the GAC in rebounding, sixth in blocks and 25th in scoring. Freddy Lee leads the GAC and is ranked fourth in the country with a 3.84 assist-to-turnover ratio.
 
SCOUTING THE RANGERS
Northwestern Oklahoma (12-6, 8-5 GAC) has lost three of its last four contests, including a 65-33 loss to Henderson State on Jan. 27. The Rangers are currently in a tie for second with East Central and Southeastern Oklahoma State in the GAC Standings.
Northwestern leads the conference in assist/turnover ratio (1.3), while ranking second in 3-oint field goal percentage (.413) and third scoring defense (72.2).The Rangers' .413 3-point shooting percentage ranks 15th in Division II.

Cody Halvorson leads NWOSU and ranks 12th in the conference with 15.3 points per game and leads the GAC made 3-pointers per game (3.5), while ranking ninth in 3-point field goal percentage (.447). Treyvon Andres averages 12.2 points and 5.9 boards per contest and ranks second in the conference in blocks per game (2.2).
 
SCOUTING THE BULLDOGS
Southwestern Oklahoma (3-16, 1-12 GAC) has lost nine straight games and ten of its last 11, including a 97-87 loss to Ouachita on Jan. 27. The Bulldogs sit at the bottom of the GAC standings.
 
While Southwestern ranks last in the conference in field goal percentage (.408) and second to last in scoring defense (82.7), the Bulldogs are ranked fifth in 3-point field goals made per game (8.8).

On offense, Southwestern is led by Charles Beauregard's 17.2 points per game and Devin Pugh's 12.8 points per game. Beauregard is ranked seventh in the GAC in scoring, 11th in free throw percentage and 17th in rebounding.
