GOLDEN SUNS SET TO HOST SOUTHEASTERN AND EAST CENTRAL

RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. – Arkansas Tech women's basketball finishes their three-game home stand this weekend as the Golden Suns host Southeastern Oklahoma State at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday, and host East Central at 1 p.m. on Saturday.

ALL-TIME SERIES
Arkansas Tech holds a 10-5 edge over Southeastern in the all-time series that started in 1980. The Golden Suns have won eight of the last ten matchups against the Savage Storm, including a 78-64 win over Southeastern earlier this season. Tech has never lost to Southeastern at home, as the Golden Suns are a perfect 5-0 against the Savage Storm in Tucker Coliseum.
 
Against East Central, Arkansas Tech leads the all-time series, 11-6. The meetings began in 1986. The Golden Suns have won four of the last five meetings, including an 84-74 earlier this season. Tech is 7-1 against the Lady Tigers at home. East Central has not won in Tucker Coliseum since the very first meeting between these two schools in 1986 as the Lady Tigers defeated Tech 74-67.
 
SCOUTING THE GOLDEN SUNS
Arkansas Tech (13-2, 9-2 GAC) has won four straight games and nine of its last ten contests. During its four-game winning streak, Tech has outscored its opponents by an average of 13.0 points.
 
The Golden Suns lead the GAC in scoring margin (+15.6), turnover margin (+4.27), and steals (11.7). While ranking second in the conference field goal percentage defense (.367), 3-point field goal percentage defense (.293), and rebounding margin (+7.3). Tech is averaging 81.3 points per game, which ranks as the 12th-best in Division II.
 
Jayana Sanders paces Tech with 14.9 points per game, followed by Ke'Vonshaye Stackhouse with 13.3 points and Lyrik Williams with 12.7 points. Tech is one of just two schools in the GAC to have three players ranked in the top-20 in the conference in scoring. Williams and Cheyenne North both rank in the top seven in the GAC in rebounding with just over eight per contest. North is also second in the conference and ranks 21st in Division II with 2.5 blocks per game. Kylie Ladd leads the GAC and is ranked 12th in Division II with 3.13 steals per game.
 
SCOUTING THE SAVAGE STORM
Southeastern Oklahoma (8-8, 6-5 GAC) snapped its four-game losing-streak this past Saturday with its 83-76 win over Northwestern Oklahoma State. The Savage Storm have lost six of their last eight contests.
 
The Savage Storm are ranked third in the GAC in assist/turnover ratio (1.0), while ranking fourth in the conference in rebounding margin (+1.9) and assists (14.0). Southeastern ranks fifth in the conference in scoring defense (67.8), field goal percentage defense (.389) and 3-point percentage (.339).
 
In the first meeting between these two teams earlier this year, a third-quarter Southeastern rally closed the gap, but the Savage Storm were unable to get over the hump as Tech pulled ahead to hand Southeastern a 78-64 loss in Bloomer Sullivan Arena.
 
Emem David leads Southeastern in scoring (11.0 ppg) and rebounding (8.4 rpg). David is ranked fourth in the GAC in rebounding, ninth in field goal percentage and 24th in scoring.
 
SCOUTING THE LADY TIGERS
East Central (6-9, 6-6 GAC) fell to Northwestern Oklahoma State 75-62 on Saturday, snapping a two-game winning streak. Prior to their two-game winning streak, the Lady Tigers had lost five straight contests.
 
East Central ranks 11th in the conference in scoring (63.5) and last in field-goal percentage (.339). ECU has relied on ball security and the 3-point shot as the Lady Tigers rank third in the GAC in turnover margin (+3.27) second in the conference in made 3-pointers per game (8.9). Devon Branch and Lakin Preisner pace East Central as they average 14.4 points and 13.3 points per game, respectively.
