WONDER BOYS 9-0 IN CONFERENCE FOR FIRST TIME IN PROGRAM HISTORY

ARKADELPHIA, Ark. – The Arkansas Tech Wonder Boys are 9-0 in conference play for the first time in program history, after defeating Ouachita twice, 17-1 and 3-2, on Saturday.

  • Arkansas Tech will be on the road again for its next contest, as the Wonder Boys travel to Cleveland, Miss. for a midweek battle against Delta State on Tuesday, March 7, at 3 p.m. The Wonder Boys will then take on the Statesmen again on Wednesday at 3 p.m.

  • Arkansas Tech remains the only team in the Great American Conference that is unbeaten in conference play.
  • Tech scored 17 runs for the second time this season in game one, including Gibbs' first home run of the season. Gibbs finished the game with four runs batted in to lead all players.
  • Armstrong went the distance on the mound in game one, allowing just one run in seven innings. He also struck out five to pick up his third consecutive win.
  • Tech was held to just five hits in game two, but the Wonder Boys capitalized with a third-inning triple by Klockowski to give Tech the first lead of the game.
  • Birkemeier earned his third consecutive win in game two, pitching 5.1 innings and allowing two runs. Branden Bohuslav and Harbin combined for a hitless 1.2 innings on the mound, with Harbin recording his third save of the season.
