Anissa Pounds scored 17 points and grabbed seven boards, leading a cast of four Arkansas Tech players in double figures as the No. 21 Golden Suns (17-3, 13-3 Great American Conference) handed Southern Arkansas (5-15, 3-13 GAC) an 83-40 setback on Thursday night at Tucker Coliseum.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Golden Suns led wire-to-wire, opening the game by scoring the first five points.
- Tech pushed its lead into double figures (16-6) at the 4:09 mark on a 3-pointer by Calli White.
- The Golden Suns led by as many as 15 before taking a 26-13 advantage after the first quarter.
- Tech outscored SAU 15-2 over the first 6:30 of the second quarter to open up a 26-point (41-15) advantage – the same margin they would take into the half (46-20).
- The two teams played relatively even basketball in the third quarter, as SAU outscored Tech 15-14 in the third quarter to pull to within 25 (60-35) entering the fourth quarter.
- After the teams traded layups in the first minute of the fourth quarter, the Golden Suns went on a 19-0 run to take a 44-point (81-37) lead with under a minute to play.
- That 44-point advantage would be the largest lead of the game for the Golden Suns, who walked away with a 43-point victory.
