WONDER BOYS BATTLE MULERIDERS AND TIGERS THIS WEEKEND

RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. – The Arkansas Tech Wonder Boys go for their GAC-leading seventh and eighth straight wins this weekend, beginning with a home game against Southern Arkansas on Thursday. The Wonder Boys host SAU at 7:30 p.m. in Tucker Coliseum before traveling to Arkadelphia to take on Ouachita at 3 p.m. on Saturday.

ALL-TIME SERIES
Tech leads the all-time series against the Muleriders, 93-69, including a 57-21 record at home. Ouachita holds an 82-74 all-time edge over Tech, but the Wonder Boys have won the past two meetings, including a 78-66 victory over the Tigers earlier this season.
 
SCOUTING THE WONDER BOYS
Arkansas Tech (15-4, 11-4 GAC) has moved into a tie for second in the Great American Conference standings after posting a 90-86 victory over Southern Nazarene last Thursday and a 92-79 victory over Oklahoma Baptist on Saturday. Justin Graham was named GAC Co-Player of the Week for his performance, averaging 18.5 points, 6.5 assists and 5.5 rebounds in two games while shooting over 68 percent from the field.
 
Tech leads the GAC in scoring offense, averaging 89.0 points per game. After the victory over the Bison on Saturday, the Wonder Boys moved to fifth in Division II with 11.9 three-point field-goals per game. Alex Brown leads the Wonder Boys with 15.1 points per game, including a team-high 21 points in Tech's win over Oklahoma Baptist. Bennie Lufile averages 12.6 points and a GAC-best 9.2 rebounds per contest.
 
SCOUTING THE MULERIDERS
Southern Arkansas (9-12, 7-8 GAC) has won three of its last five contests but is coming off a loss to Northwestern Oklahoma on Saturday. The Muleriders rank first in the GAC in rebounding offense, averaging 41.7 boards per game. The Muleriders rank second in field goal percentage defense and fourth in scoring defense.
 
In the first contest between Tech and Southern Arkansas this season, the Muleriders outscored the Wonder Boys, 42-28, on points in the paint. Tech was lethal from long range, however, netting 14 three-pointers. Graham and Brown combined for 41 points for Tech. CJ Elkins led the Muleriders in scoring with 23 points, while Snyder Cenecharles, Darnell Jones-Bowie, and De'Sean Dockery each added 17 points.
 
SCOUTING THE TIGERS
Ouachita (10-9, 8-7 GAC) is coming off consecutive wins last week to end a four-game losing streak. The Tigers defeated East Central on Thursday before knocking off Southeastern Oklahoma on Saturday. Before hosting the Wonder Boys are Saturday, the Tigers travel to Searcy to take on Harding on Thursday. Ouachita currently ranks eighth in the conference in scoring and sixth in scoring defense.
 
Earlier this season, Tech defeated Ouachita, 78-66. Brown led the Wonder Boys with 18 points, while Branden Williams added 17 points off the bench. Tech out-rebounded the Tigers, 44-28, the Wonder Boys' highest rebound margin of the season. Carven Holcolmbe and Lakee Westbrook led the Tigers with 24 points and 20 points, respectively.
