RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. - With a 27-8 run to start the game and 13 first-quarter points from
Anissa Pounds, the Arkansas Tech Golden Suns got their second largest win of the season on Thursday, defeating the Arkansas-Monticello Cotton Blossoms, 86-41. Pounds finished with a game-high 22 points and seven assists in the senior-night victory.

- Arkansas Tech (19-4, 15-4 GAC) has completed its home season and will be on the road for its last three regular-season contests. The Golden Suns return to the court on Saturday in Arkadelphia, as Tech takes on Henderson State at 1 p.m.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Arkansas-Monticello (11-12, 8-11 GAC) took the first lead of the game on a layup, but the Golden Suns caught fire from behind the arc, netting six triples in the first quarter.
- A 19-1 run by Tech in the second quarter gave the Golden Suns their largest lead of 31 with just under two minutes remaining until halftime. Brianna Williams and Taylor Ely combined for 13 points during the run, and a Kelsey McClure layup with just over 30 seconds left in the period sent Tech into halftime with a 50-19 lead.
- Tech shot 58.6 percent from the floor in the half, including 7-11 from deep, to score the most points in a first half this season by the Golden Suns. Pounds and Ely led all scorers with 14 points and 10 points, respectively.
- The Suns coasted to a 40-point lead with a 12-1 run in the third quarter. Pounds started the run with three consecutive layups, and D'rae Tullock capped the run with a layup midway through the period
- Arkansas Tech claimed its largest lead of the game at 47 points on a layup by Ryann Goodsell with just under two minutes to play in the game. The Golden Suns posted 21 points in the fourth period, giving them at least 20 points in three of four quarters.

- With the win, the Golden Suns remain three games behind Harding for first place in the Great American Conference.
- Arkansas Tech posted its highest field-goal percentage of the season in the victory, shooting 60.4 percent from the floor. The Suns also shot a season-high from three-point range and tied a season-high with nine triples.
- The Golden Suns limited UAM to just 29.8 percent on field goals, while holding their opponent without a three-pointer for the second time this season.
- Pounds' 22 points were her second-highest scoring effort of the season. Calli White followed with 12 points on 4-5 shooting, and Ely and Williams each scored 10.
- All 10 players that entered the game for the Golden Suns found the bottom of the net, as Tech outscored the Blossoms, 30-16, on bench points.
- Tech outscored UAM, 36-20, in the paint and, 37-12, on points off turnovers. The Golden Suns also finished with 12 fast break points.
