RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. - The Arkansas Tech Golden Suns basketball team will return from the holiday break, hosting Lincoln University (Mo.) in a non-conference tilt on Saturday, Dec. 30. Tip-off from Tucker Coliseum is set for 1 p.m.
The game will be broadcast live on 102.3-FM (KCJC) in Russellville with live audio, video, and statistics available at www.arkansastechsports.com. Saturday's meeting is the first meeting between the two programs.
Lincoln (3-8) enters the game on a four-game skid. After its last win - a 67-59 win over Upper Iowa - the Blue Tigers have dropped four MIAA contests, including a double-overtime setback at Missouri Southern on Dec. 7.
The Blue Tigers are led offensively by Citlali Lopez, who averages 12.5 points per game and is shooting nearly 43 percent from beyond the 3-point arc. Bre Coleman has been LU's leading rebounder, averaging 6.6 boards per game.
The Golden Suns (6-1) ended the fall term with back-to-back wins over Northwestern Oklahoma and Lane College, and Saturday's contest will be Tech's final non-conference matchup of the year. Tech has been led by the freshman tandem of Jayana Sanders (14.6 ppg) and Ke'Vonshaye Stackhouse (12.1 ppg). Lyrik Williams (11.6 ppg) and Cheyenne North (10.0 ppg) also have averaged in double figures this season.
