SUNS WIN ROAD MATCHUP AT LANE

JACKSON, Tenn. – Ke'Vonshaye Stackhouse scored 17 points on 8-of-9 shooting, Ryann Goodsell poured in 16 points with nine boards as the Arkansas Tech Golden Suns basketball team (6-1) downed Lane College (1-10) 80-59 on Wednesday at the Lane Gymnasium.  
 
HOW IT HAPPENED
  • Lane scored the first basket of the game at the 9:18 mark of the first quarter. It was the only lead Lane would have.
  • After a 4-4 tie, the Golden Suns used a 12-0 run to open up a 16-4 advantage with 3:17 remaining in the quarter.
  • Lane scored the final five points of the first quarter to narrow Tech's lead to 16-9 at the end of the opening quarter.
  • The Golden Suns pushed the lead back into double figures (22-11) on a layup by Goodsell at the 8:52 mark.
  • Lane cut Tech's lead to five (22-17) after back-to-back 3-pointers with 6:58 to go until half.
  • A 6-0 run by the Golden Suns gave Tech a double-figure (28-17) lead with 4:50 to go in the half.
  • Tech opened up as much as a 14-point (34-20) advantage before carrying a 34-21 advantage into the break.
  • Lane scored the first four points of the second half to narrow the Tech lead to 34-25 with 8:49 remaining in the third quarter.
  • After a Tech timeout, the Golden Suns used a 7-0 run to claim a 16-point (41-25) advantage less than two minutes later.
  • The Golden Suns' lead grew to as many as 18 points (54-36) after a Taylor Ely 3-pointer, before Tech took a 17-point (58-41) advantage into the fourth.
  • Stackhouse buried a jumper with 9:30 to play to push Tech's lead to 20 (60-42) for the first time.
  • The Golden Suns' final 21-point advantage represented the largest lead of the contest.

  • The Golden Suns outshot Lane 52.4 to 32.7 percent, including outshooting Lane 48.5 to 20.0 percent in the first half.
  • Tech shot a blistering 56.7 percent from the floor in the second half.
  • Tech outrebounded Lane 39-26, holding a 16-10 advantage on the offensive glass.
