HARRIS BROWN LEADS WONDER BOYS PAST WARRIORS

Box Score RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. – Harris Brown turned in a season-high 20 point performance, as the Arkansas Tech Wonder Boys defeated Hendrix 93-68 Wednesday night.

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • Arkansas Tech (7-1, 3-1 GAC) grabbed a quick 7-2 lead in the opening two minutes of play. 
  • The Warriors (1-8) however, put together 21-7 run to take their largest lead of the game (23-14) with 12:00 to play in the period. 
  • Hendrix led for just over ten  minutes in the first half, Tech did not regain the lead until the 3:32 minute mark, as a Montrell Williams layup gave the Wonder Boys a 38-36 lead.  
  • Tech's largest lead of the half came on a jumper by H. Brown that put Tech ahead, 46-37, with 1:01 remaining. 
  • Hendrix would score the final four points of the half to put the score at 46-41 at the half.
  • In the second half, Arkansas Tech increased its lead to 57-45 with an 11-4 run, with nine of the 11 points coming from a trio of 3-pointers made by Alex Brown, Mason Cline, and Freddy Lee.
  • With 11:58 left in regulation, the Warriors used an 8-5 run to pull within nine points, however, that is as close as Hendrix would come in the second half as Tech went on to outscore the Warriors 31-15 over the remaining 12 minutes of regulation.
  • The Wonder Boys claimed their largest lead of the game on a H. Brown fast break layup to give Tech a commanding 90-60 lead. Three minutes later a Tobin Johnson free throw put an exclamation point on the Tech win.
NOTABLES
  • With the win, Arkansas Tech increases its win streak to a GAC-leading five games. 
  • All ten Arkansas Tech Wonder Boys scored in the game, with four going for double-figures, led by H. Brown's team-high 20 points on 8-12 shooting.
  • RJ Glasper finished with 17 points for the game, Cline added 14 points and Williams tallied 11 points.
  • Tech grabbed a season-high 55 rebounds, while limiting Hendrix to 42 boards. Williams and Woods each pulled down nine rebounds, while Lee followed with a career-high rebounds.
  • Arkansas Tech shot 45.1 percent from field-goal range in the victory, while holding Hendrix to 37.3 percent on field goals and 20.8 percent from deep. 
  • The Wonder Boys also held the advantage over the Warriors in points off of turnovers (19-14), fast break points (16-6), and second chance points (19-12).
