RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. – The fifth-ranked Arkansas Tech Golden Suns softball team (21-2, 13-1 Great American Conference) are back on the road this week to take on East Central (14-13, 11-5 GAC) in a four-game series at Tiger Field in in Ada, Okla. The first doubleheader of the series is scheduled for Saturday starting at 1 p.m. with Sunday's doubleheader starting at 12 p.m.

The Golden Suns are coming off a rain-shortened two-game home split against Oklahoma Baptist. Tech won the opening game of the doubleheader 7-1 and dropped the second game 3-0 for just its second loss of the season.

With one-third of the conference season in the books, the Golden Suns are currently the best hitting team in the Great American Conference (.348) and have five players in the top 20 in the conference in batting average;

Jalissa Gum (.377),
Destiny Crumpley (.360), and
Gaby Vasquez (.356).
On top of a potent offense, Tech also continues to have some of the strongest pitching in the GAC with three pitchers ranked in the top four in earned run average;
