2016 Highlights
Saw action in 60 games, drawing 58 starts, including 31 appearances and 28 starts in the circle ... received numerous awards after completing the most successful season in the circle in Arkansas Tech program history, including D2CCA All-America Second Team (utility-pitcher), NFCA D-II All-America Third Team (utility-pitcher), D2CCA All-Region First Team (utility-pitcher), NFCA All-Region First Team (utility-pitcher), Great American Conference Pitcher of the Year, all-GAC First Team (pitcher), all-GAC Second Team (utility), CoSIDA Academic All-District, and NFCA Pitcher of the Week ... finished the season with a 22-4 record, setting the lowest earned run average in the NCAA (all divisions) with a 0.60 ERA, was second nationally in fewest hits hits per seven innings with 3.18, was sixth in the nation with 9.9 strikeouts per seven innings and finished 11th in the nation with 264 strikeouts ... completed the season giving up just 21 runs, 16 earned in 187-1/3 innings pitched and walked just 79 batters ... led GAC in ERA and opposing batting average at .138, finishing second in strikeouts and third in wins ... threw two no-hitters and 11 complete game shutouts ... first career no-hitter came in an 8-0 win, walking just two batters and striking out 11 against Central Missouri (2/7) ... threw second no-hitter of the season in the GAC Tournament, walking just one batter and striking out 11 against Southern Nazarene (4/28) ... struck out 10+ batters in 12 games, including a career-high 16 strikeouts on two occasions, the first coming against Henderson State (2/26) and the other coming in the NCAA Regionals against Minnesota State (5/6) ... from the plate, Gum led the team in home runs (10), doubles (16), RBIs (49), total bases (118), slugging percentage (.659), on-base percentage (.458), and was second on the team in batting average (.369), runs scored (44), and triples (3) ... finished second in the GAC in doubles and triples, fifth in slugging percentage, sixth in batting average and RBIs, ninth in on-base percentage, 10th in runs scored, and 11th in home runs ... recorded 19 multi-hit games ... notched a season-high four hits, going 4-for-4 with three RBIs and a season-best four runs scored at Arkansas-Monticello (4/2) ... knocked in a season-best four RBIs, going 2-for-4 with two home runs at Arkansas-Monticello (4/3).
2015 Highlights
Started in 45 games and appeared in 55…finished the season with a .290 batting average, connecting on 40-of-138 at bats... totaled eight doubles…had five home runs and 21 RBI’s… completed the year with a .349 on-base percentage… finished the season with 42 putouts, 72 assists and a .912 fielding percentage…earned Honorable Mention All-GAC honors.
2014 Highlights
Started in 46 games and saw action in 54... hit .260 (33-127) on the year with 25 runs and 17 RBIs... also added five home runs and five doubles for a .417 slugging percentage and a .314 on-base percentage... walked ten times and stole eight bases without ever getting thrown out or picked off... went 2-for-2 with two RBIs and a sacrifice bunt against Fort Hays State on 3/19/14 in an 8-2 Golden Suns victory... made eight appearances in the circle with a 3-1 record and 4.62 ERA... threw four complete games in four starts and 30.1 innings pitched... gave up 20 earned runs on 23 hits while tossing 19 strikeouts.
In High School
Played at Frontier High School for four seasons under coach Erron Kauk... captained team three years as a pitcher... named MVP for the Perry Softball Tournament in 2010... also selected as an all-state pitcher in 2012 and participated in the all-state game... held the highest batting average on her team in her senior season with a .589... also played one season of slowpitch softball at the shortstop position.
