HOW IT HAPPENED
  • Arkansas Tech (6-2, 2-2 GAC) netted its first seven shots of the game and eventually took a 17-4 lead to force a Miner timeout.
  • The Wonder Boys held a lead for all but 16 seconds of the first half, and Tech ended the period with a 10-4 run to take a 13-point lead into the break.
  • Tech hit 47.5 percent of its field goals in the half, including eight three-pointers. Brown exploded for 19 points in just 16 minutes, including 5-6 shooting from behind the arc. Lufile and Montrell Williams each added 10 points in the first 20 minutes of the contest.
  • Despite multiple comeback attempts from Missouri S&T (7-3), the Wonder Boys maintained their lead for much of the second half. A 9-0 run for the Miners, however, tied the score at 73-73 with just under six minutes to play.
  • With 3:18 remaining in the second half, the Miners took their first lead of the game on a three from Ervin Sarajlic. Missouri S&T held its lead for just over three minutes, until a Lufile free-throw tied the score at 80-80 with 13 seconds to play. Justin Graham then forced an extra period with a key block on the Miners' final possession.
  • In overtime, Missouri S&T took the first lead, but Brown scored six consecutive points for the Wonder Boys to put Tech on top. Tech then knocked down 5-7 free-throws in the final 68 seconds to secure the win.
  • Tech struggled from the floor in the second half, shooting just 28.9 percent from the field. Brown hit 6-9 field goals to tally 14 points and lead the Wonder Boys to victory.
