RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. – For the first time since 2009, the Arkansas Tech Wonder Boys are 6-0 at home. Tech defeated Southeastern Oklahoma State, 97-83, in Tucker Coliseum on Thursday, behind 25 points from
Montrell Williams.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Williams established himself early in the contest, flushing home a dunk just 12 seconds into the first half. Williams scored 16 points in the period to lead all players.
- Southeastern Oklahoma (4-7, 0-5 GAC) took its largest lead of six points less than five minutes into the first half, but a three-pointer by Williams sparked an 11-0 run that put the Wonder Boys ahead, 21-16 with just under 12 minutes until halftime.
- The Savage Storm cut Tech's lead to just two points on two separate occasions, but the Wonder Boys responded both times to maintain the lead. Arkansas Tech then finished the final five minutes of the first half with a 17-6 run, taking a 48-31 lead into the break.
- Both teams shot above 47 percent in the period, but Tech took the advantage with 11 points off the Storm's nine first-half turnovers. The Wonder Boys also outscored Southeastern Oklahoma 12-2 in the paint and won the rebounding battle, 20-12.
- Arkansas Tech maintained its lead for the full 20 minutes of the second half. A 12-4 run by the Savage Storm cut Tech's lead to just nine points with 16:13 to play, but responded immediately with a 10-2 run that featured four points from Bennie Lufile.
- The Wonder Boys once again controlled the paint in the half, outscoring the Storm, 14-8, inside. Taking care of the ball was also key to keeping the lead, as Tech committed just two turnovers in the 20-minute period.
NOTABLES
- The Wonder Boys finished the game shooting a season-high 55.7 percent from the field, the highest field-goal percentage by the Wonder Boys since Nov. 29, 2014. Tech also netted a season-high 20 free-throws in Thursday's victory.
- Arkansas Tech's six turnovers are the lowest in a game since March 6, 2015, when the Wonder Boys also committed six against Southeastern Oklahoma.
- Williams' 25 points came on 9-18 shooting from the field, and he added three assists and a game-high three steals.
- Alex Brown finished with 19 points and seven rebounds, while Justin Graham finished with 17 points (6-9 FG), eight boards and five assists. Lufile also scored in double-digits, tallying 14 points to go with eight rebounds.
