WONDER BOYS LIVE THE DREAM IN EXHIBITION FINALE

RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. Branden Williams came off the bench to score 20 points, leading a cast of seven Arkansas Tech Wonder Boys basketball players to reach double figures in points as Tech knocked off Livin' The Dream 120-73 in the Wonder Boys' exhibition finale on Saturday at Tucker Coliseum.

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • The two teams played back-and-forth basketball over the first five minutes of the game, as Williams hit a layup at the 14:51 mark of the opening half to tie the game at 9-9.
  • The Wonder Boys used an 8-0 run to push ahead by eight (17-9) at the 10:01 mark, and reached double figures just 90 seconds later as Mason Cline's 3-point gave Tech a 12-point (23-11) lead.
  • After LTD answered with a 3-pointer to pull to within nine (23-14), Tech scored the game's next 11 points to open up a 20-point (34-14) lead with 6:31 to play in the opening half.
  • Tech led by as many as 23 (42-19) in the half, but Livin' The Dream cut the Wonder Boys' margin to 14 (50-36) with just over a minute to go in the half and Tech took that lead into the intermission.
  • The second half saw the Wonder Boys quickly stretch the lead back out to over 20 (59-38) as Justin Graham buried a 3-pointer with 18:18 to play.
  • The Wonder Boys reached the century mark (100-57) on a free throw by Graham with 8:01 to play.
  • Tech took its largest lead of the contest – a 48-point advantage (118-70) with just under two minutes to play.
NOTABLES
  • Williams scored 11 of his team-high 20 points in the opening half.
  • Bennie Lufile also reached double figures in the opening 20 minutes, going for 10 off the bench and finishing with 12 overall.
  • Livin' The Dream outrebounded the Wonder Boys 29-28, holding an 11-4 advantage on the offensive glass in the first half.
  • Tech was solid from long-distance in the opening half, connecting on nine of 25 3-point attempts.
  • The Wonder Boys trailed 18-14 in paint points in the opening half and 7-5 in second-chance points, but held a 34-9 advantage in bench points.
  • Second-chance points swung hard back to the Wonder Boys in the second half, as the Wonder Boys outpaced LTD 16-1.
  • The Wonder Boys outrebounded Livin' The Dream 66-51, held a 42.0 to 34.1 advantage in shooting, and connected on 18 3-pointers.
  • In addition to Williams and Lufile, Montrell Williams (12 points), Grant Prusator (10 points), Alex Brown (16 points), Graham (18 points) and Trevin Woods (17 points) all reached double figures.
  • Lufile added 13 rebounds to go along with his 12 boards.
  • Tech dished out 20 assists, led by a game-best six from Aris Morton.
