WONDER BOYS TO HOST SWOSU, NWOSU

RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. - The Arkansas Tech Wonder Boys basketball team (9-8, 4-7 Great American Conference) will return to action this weekend at Tucker Coliseum, hosting Southwestern Oklahoma in a 7:30 p.m. contest on Thursday, Jan. 28 and Northwestern Oklahoma in a 3 p.m. tilt on Saturday, Jan. 30.

THE BROADCAST
Both games will be carried live on KCJC-FM (102.3) in Russellville. Sam Strasner will call the play-by-play and Kelly Davis will provide color analysis.

PREVIOUS MEETINGS
Tech dropped an 88-63 decision to SWOSU in the league opener in Weatherford back on Nov. 19, but took a 70-69 win over NWOSU in Alva two days later.

THE SWOSU SERIES
Thursday night's game marks the 26th meeting all-time between the two schools in a series dating back to the 1980 season, with Tech holding a 15-10 advantage. Since the formation of the Great American Conference, the series has been heavily slanted toward the Wonder Boys - aside from this season's earlier meeting, the only other SWOSU win came in the 2013-14 season with the Bulldogs taking a 63-38 win in Weatherford. Tech is 7-1 all-time against the Bulldogs at Tucker Coliseum, with SWOSU's lone win in Russellville coming back in 2003.

THE NWOSU SERIES
Saturday's matchup is the eighth all-time meeting between the two schools. The first meeting was NWOSU's only win in the series - an 89-79 win for the Rangers in Lawton, Oklahoma back on November 27, 1971. The two programs did not meet again on the hardwood until NWOSU joined the Great American Conference in the 2013-14 season, and the Wonder Boys have won each of the seven meetings since.
