COACH WILBERS SAYS
  • On shooting 76 percent in the opening half - "I saw the ball just go through the net a bunch. We got a bunch of good shots, got transition going, and didn't miss very many shots. We played at a high level and played fast. I like the way we played with assists – finding the open person is probably the best thing, and then just finishing shots… it was a fantastic first half. Other than our offense, I thought our defense was really good the first half. We got their scorers in foul trouble. It was a good first half and we maintained it in the second half."
  • On the offensive performance – "I really liked the way we executed our offense. Teams are throwing a lot of defenses at us right now, and I think we're executing both against man and zone at a very high level.
  • On the play of Kelsey McClure off the bench – "She has had a fantastic attitude all year long. She has maintained the course and has gotten better and better. She has never given up, shows up every day at the gym, trying to get better, and her minutes are going to go up. There aren't too many players who can finish like her in our league."
WHO'S NEXT
  • The Golden Suns will return to action on Thursday, Jan. 28, continuing their three-game homestand against Southwestern Oklahoma. A 5:30 p.m. tip is scheduled.
