COACH WILBERS SAYS
  • On Calli White scoring 16 points in the third quarter - "She's such a tremendous shooter and she's out here all the time working out and getting extra shots. Credit the girls – they were getting it to her too. They felt she was hot so they were getting her the basketball. It was a really good team effort."
  • On the halftime adjustments – "We sent three back – it's the first time all year we've had to do that. We were shooting the ball and they were running players out, and we were sending two back and they were running three girls out. It took us a while to get used to it, but we sent three back and stopped their transition."
  • On the team's response to the first-half challenge – "I'm very pleased. We had no panic in the locker room whatsoever. We have experienced players who did what they needed to do, came out and made some adjustments. They showed the experience of this basketball team."
WHO'S NEXT
  • The Golden Suns will return to action on Saturday, Jan. 30, concluding their three-game homestand against Northwestern Oklahoma. A 1 p.m. tip is scheduled.
