RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. – After picking up a pair of home victories against the top competition in the Great American Conference last weekend, the No. 20 Arkansas Tech Golden Suns (11-2 overall, 9-0 GAC) basketball team will look to ride the hot streak back onto the road as Tech will travel to Arkadelphia to take on Henderson State (7-8 overall, 6-3 GAC) Thursday, Jan. 21 at 5 p.m. in the Duke Wells Center.

THE HSU SERIESThe Thursday night meeting between the two programs will be the 79th all-time matchup between the Golden Suns and the Reddies, a matchup predominantly controlled by Arkansas Tech. The Golden Suns hold a 66-12 record against Reddies and have won 17 of the 18 games against Henderson State. The two rivals played each other three times last season with Arkansas Tech defeating Henderson State in a 96-84 shootout in the 2015 GAC Tournament Quarterfinal in the last meeting. The last time the Golden Suns played at the Duke Wells Center, Tech pulled out a 70-56 victory back on Dec. 6, 2014.

SCOUTING THE REDDIESThe Golden Suns third-ranked scoring defense (62.9 ppg) will be challenged by the Reddies fourth-ranked scoring offense (73.1 ppg) and are averaging 82.3 ppg at home in GAC games at the Duke Wells Center. The matchup presents two of the best forwards in the GAC as
Fatima Adams (19.8 ppg, 9.6 rpg), the third-best scorer in the conference could be matched up against senior forward Dulincia Keener (19.2 ppg, 8.7 rpg), the fourth-best scorer in the GAC. The Reddies are also led by Victoria Stewart (12.7 ppg, 5.1 rpg) and Haleigh Henson (11.7 ppg, 2.1 apg) as the other two primary scoring threats on the offensive end.
BALANCING ACTArkansas Tech seems to find different contributors on the offensive end every game, as the Golden Suns have just two players averaging double-figures on the season, but have six players averaging more than seven points per game.
WITHIN WHITE'S RANGEATU junior guard
Calli White will look to stay hot coming off the 80-52 win over Harding on Monday. White scored her highest point total of the season (18 points) on 6-of-12 shooting, which includes a 4-for-4 performance from behind the arc in the third quarter in the victory.
ON POINTJunior point guard
Bre Brooks has provided a spark for the Golden Suns offense as of late, as both a scorer and a passer. Brooks scored her second-highest point total of the season with 18 on 5-of-10 shooting and 8-of-8 from the foul line against Southern Arkansas and followed it up with her highest assist count of the season with eight against Harding. Brooks currently ranks third in the GAC in assists per game (4.7).
