THE HSU SERIESThe Wonder Boys will be looking to snap two different streaks in the 161st all-time meeting between Tech and HSU. While ATU has lost four in a row going into the game, the Wonder Boys are looking to return to winning form over the Reddies. HSU won both matchups against the Wonder Boys last season, with the Reddies pulling out a 69-63 victory over Tech the last time the two teams met in Arkadelphia back on Dec. 6, 2014. Despite the recent struggles, the Wonder Boys have faired well in the Henderson State series, winning 14 of the last 17 games against the Reddies.
Â
SCOUTING THE REDDIESHenderson State is a team also looking to snap a four-game losing streak as it's last win came on Jan. 7 against Southwestern Oklahoma. The Reddies top scorer coming into the match is junior guard Kevin Kozan (14.8 ppg, 19 steals) and is one of the top shooters from behind the arc in the GAC (.420). Sophomore guard Kaylon Tappin (13.7 ppg, 3.5 rpg) since joining HSU during the spring semester has been one of the Reddies top scorers coming off the bench and senior forward Tavian Pomlee (10.3 ppg, 5.0 rpg) is HSU's top scoring threat in the post.
Â
TALE OF TWO HALVESThe Wonder Boys will be looking to gain some consistency after some second half struggles in the last few weeks. In the last four games, Tech has been outscored 179-146 in the second half while keeping the game close in the first half, only being outscored 186-173 in the opening half. The Wonder Boys held a first half lead in two of those games.
Â

Jerry Owens (14 points) and
Freddy Lee (10 points) each broke double-figures scoring against Southern Arkansas and both guys cracked into double-figures against Harding as well. Lee (14 points) and Owens (10 points) along with
Tyler Corley (11 points) broke into double-figures against the Bisons.
