WONDER BOYS RETURN HOME TO FACE SAU, HARDING

Game Notes

RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. - The Arkansas Tech Wonder Boys basketball team (9-4, 4-3 Great American Conference) seeks to get back into the win column with a pair of home games, hosting Southern Arkansas (7-6, 4-3 GAC) in a 3 p.m. matinee on Saturday, Jan. 16, and then facing off against Harding (7-5, 6-1 GAC) on Monday, Jan. 18 at 7:30.

THE SAU SERIES
Saturday's game against Southern Arkansas is the 169th meeting all-time between they two programs. Arkansas Tech has a 100-68 advantage in the series between the two teams, however the last two meetings have been split evenly. The trend has been heavily weighted in favor of Arkansas Tech - the Golden Suns have won 15 of the last 17 meetings, and Southern Arkansas has not won in Tucker Coliseum since January 13, 2007.

THE HARDING SERIES
Today's meeting will be the 136th meeting all-time between the two schools. Tech holds a 77-58 advantage in the series, however, Tech holds a 47-21 advantage in games played in Tucker Coliseum. Trips to Tucker Coliseum have been like the worst parts of the movie Groundhog Day for the Bisons - Harding has lost two consecutive buzzer-beaters to the Wonder Boys here.

SHERWIN-WILLIAMS COULDN'T DO IT BETTER
The Wonder Boys have made the most of their time in the paint - Arkansas Tech has outscored opponents 426-311 on the inside.

WE'RE IN A TIGHT SPOT
Opposing defenses have struggled to get the shots they would like against a stingry Wonder Boys defense thus far this season. Arkansas Tech has held opponents to just a 39.2 percent shooting percentage - tops in the GAC and 10th nationally. Helping that stat is the Wonder Boys' impressive blocking game. Tech averages 4.2 blocks per contest - third in the GAC.
