RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. – The Arkansas Tech Wonder Boys basketball team will be looking for a bounce back win against Ouachita Baptist in Great American Conference play Thursday night at 7:30 p.m. in Arkadelphia.
SERIES HISTORY WITH THE TIGERSThe Wonder Boys (9-3, 4-2 GAC) and the Tigers will face off in the 164th meeting all-time between the two programs. Arkansas Tech will look bounce back in the series as well as Ouachita won both matchups last season against the Wonder Boys. The last time the two teams met in Arkadelphia was on January 31, 2015 when the Tigers defeated the Wonder Boys 71-57.
SCOUTING THE TIGERSOuachita Baptist enters the contest with a 4-8 record, but is 4-2 in GAC play. The Tigers rank just behind the Wonder Boys for sixth in the GAC in scoring offense at 76.3 points per game with the Wonder Boys at 76.7 ppg. OBU is one of the most prolific three-point and free throw shooting teams in the GAC as the Tigers rank as the top free throw shooting team (.770) and the second-best three-point shooting teams (.392) in the conference. Ouachita is led by junior guard Lakee Westbrook (16.8 ppg, 23 assists). Westbrook is a lethal three-point shooter who made six three-pointers against Oklahoma Baptist and five three-pointers against East Central. The Tigers also get strong offensive production from junior guard Justin McCleary (14.8 ppg, 24 assists) and senior forward Tirrell Brown (13.3 ppg, 6.5 rpg).
INSIDE VERSUS OUTSIDEIt will be a matchup of the Wonder Boys' inside game against the Tigers' outside game. While the Tigers are the second-best three-point shooting team in the GAC, the Wonder Boys have the fourth-best shooting offense in the conference (.443) with Ouachita coming in at sixth overall (.437). The Wonder Boys defense won't make the game easy for the Tigers as they rank as the top shooting defense (.380) in the conference and fourth in three-point defense (.326).

MANO-A-MANO The matchup between the Wonder Boys'
Marquis Yates and the Tigers' Lakee Westbrook could be an interesting one to watch from the guard position. Both guards are electrifying from three-point range as Yates is 30-of-74 (.405) and Westbrook is 34-of-85 (.400), both ranking in the top 15 in the GAC in three-pointers per game.
