RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. - The Arkansas Tech Wonder Boys football team will return to action after a three-week layoff, facing Eastern New Mexico in the C.H.A.M.P.S. Heart of Texas Bowl in Copperas Cove, Texas. Saturday's kickoff from Bulldawg Stadium is set for 6 p.m.

THE SERIESThe game marks the first meeting all-time between Eastern New Mexico and Arkansas Tech.
POSTSEASON STORYLINEThe game is Arkansas Tech's first postseason appearance since the 2009 season, when the Wonder Boys won an opening-round playoff game over UNC-Pembroke before falling to North Alabama. The game is Tech's first bowl game appearance since the 1968 season, when Tech faced off against the AIC All-Stars in the AIC Bowl in Little Rock. Prior to that, Tech faced Texas A&M-Kingsville (then Texas A&I) in the Great Southwest Bowl in Dallas, Texas, falling 45-14 on Dec. 31, 1960. Arkansas Tech has played in two other bowl games - falling 39-12 to Louisiana College in the Rice Bowl on Dec. 7, 1958, and topping Ouachita Baptist 12-7 in the Border Bowl on Dec. 7, 1931.
POSTSEASON LAURELSSenior linebacker
Logan Genz has picked up a laundry list of awards since joining the Wonder Boys football program. The West Fork, Ark. native was recently named second team all-Region after being a first-team all-Great American Conference selection and the GAC's Defensive Player of the Year. Genz is also a candidate for the Cliff Harris Award.
SCOUTING THE WONDER BOYSArkansas Tech's offense has been paced by an incredibly strong rushing attack.
Bryan Allen racked up 1,000 yards on the ground in nine regular-season games, and averages 6.4 yards per carry and 111.11 yards per game.
Brayden Stringer has had a strong sophomore campaign with 706 yards on the ground, while
Kristian Thompson and
Arsenio Favor have done some serious work running the football. Favor has been solid under center as well, passing for 1,912 yards and 12 touchdowns, while throwing just eight interceptions. Defensively, Genz was once again the leader with 103 tackles, but strong debut seasons by
Cua' Rose,
Jaquirous Jackson, and
Kristen Trammell complemented a talented cast of returners including
Nick Akins,
Alonzo Joyner,
Trevon Gooden,
Bruce Livingston,
Brandyn Bolling, and
Demetris Ford, who all made big contributions on the defensive side of the football.
SCOUTING EASTERN NEW MEXICOThe Greyhounds use a triple-option attack that has racked up 354.2 yards per game, led by the play of Kamal Cass. Cass has 1,343 yards on the ground this season and has rushed for 20 touchdowns. While Cass is the primary option for ENMU on the ground, Jeremy Doucette has been effective at getting the ball across the goal line, with seven TDs, while Tayshaun Gary averages 13.5 yards per carry and has five touchdowns to his credit. When the Greyhounds decide to throw the ball, they have had some success there as well - quarterback Jeremy Buurma has completed 53.9 percent of his passes for 1,282 yards and eight touchdowns.
