GOLDEN SUNS ROLL PAST RANGERS

ALVA, Okla. — Fatima Adams turned in a 23-point, 10-rebound double-double, leading a cast of four Arkansas Tech basketball players to reach double figures as the No. 18 Golden Suns (3-0, 2-0 Great American Conference) rolled to a 105-64 win over Northwestern Oklahoma (0-4, 0-2 GAC) on Saturday at Percefull Fieldhouse.

  • Arkansas Tech will play a non-conference tilt with North Alabama on Tuesday, Nov. 24 at Tucker Coliseum. Tip-off is scheduled for 5:30 p.m.
HOW IT HAPPENED
  • The Golden Suns opened the contest on a 7-0 run and eventually stretched their lead to 11-2 in the opening minutes.
  • Tech led by nine (24-15) with 1:08 to play in the opening quarter, but NWOSU closed the period on a 5-0 run to cut the Tech advantage to 24-20 at the end of the first quarter.
  • NWOSU cut the Tech lead to two (24-22) in the opening seconds of the second quarter, but the Golden Suns stretched the lead out to ten (37-27) after three consecutive buckets by Danielle Frachiseur.
  • After a 3-pointer by Tierani Richardson, Frachiseur hit another bucket to extend Tech's lead to 17 (44-27), giving Tech an 11-0 run.
  •  Tech carried an 18-point (52-34) lead into the half.
  • A 3-pointer by Bre Brooks with 6:36 to go in the third quarter pushed Tech's lead over 30 points (67-36)
  • The Golden Suns led 79-52 going into the fourth quarter.
  • Tech's largest lead (43 points) came with 38 seconds remaining.
NOTABLES
  • Adams' 23 points tied NWOSU's Kamera Bozeman for a game-high.
  • Calli White (15 points), Frachiseur (14 points), and Aujana Dawkins (13 points) all reached double figures in scoring for the Golden Suns.
  • Tech had 27 points off turnovers to NWOSU's 10, 37 bench points to NWOSU's 12, and 46 points in the paint to NWOSU's 30.
COACH WILBERS SAYS
  • On his team's performance – "We're getting off to good starts because we are playing so hard. Our tempo is really good. I challenged the team because I've been coming up here (to Alva) for a bunch of years, and we've never played well here before today."
