RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. — Getting off to a fast start to Great American Conference play with a 21-point victory over Southwestern Oklahoma Thursday night, the Arkansas Tech women's basketball team heads north to face off against Northwestern Oklahoma in a 1 p.m. game Saturday.
SCOUTING THE GOLDEN SUNS
The Golden Suns (2-0, 1-0 GAC) have eased to two victories to start their season. Tech is shooting 42.9 percent from the field in the early going, led by senior Fatima Adams, who is shooting 56.7 percent and is averaging 21.5 points per game along with 11.0 rebounds. Senior Bre Brooks is second on the team in scoring, putting up 16.5 ppg after a 25-point showing Thursday night, and junior Danielle Frachiseur has connected on 9-of-11 shots from the field and all six of her free throws to average 12.0 ppg. Junior Anissa Pounds makes it four Suns averaging in double figures, putting up 11.0 ppg.
SCOUTING THE OPPONENT
Northwestern (0-3, 0-1 GAC) dropped a pair of games last weekend to Northeastern State and Central Oklahoma to start their season, and fell 64-42 to Harding to open league play Thursday. The Rangers have seen 14 different players get time over the first three games, with just one averaging double figures in scoring. Kamera Boseman puts up 11.7 ppg on a 68.2-percent shooting percentage and has pulled down 6.0 rebounds per game. Kaci Hansen leads in rebounding with 6.3 per game while adding 6.0 points, while Ashley Pride averages 6.3 assists and 5.7 points so far.
HISTORY LESSON
Tech leads the all-time series against the Rangers 9-1. They started off with six consecutive victories before NWOSU recorded a 70-65 victory in Alva, Oklahoma in the 2013-14 season. The Suns responded that season with a 24-point win in the return trip to Russellville. After a season sweep last season, Tech has won three straight.

- The Golden Suns are outscoring their opponents by an average of 20.5 points per game so far in the early portion of the season. Last season, Tech won each of its first seven games by double digits.
- Caroline Eubanks turned in two of her best performances of the 2014-15 season against the Rangers, combining to go 16-of-17 from the free throw line over the two games, averaging 15.0 points, 7.0 rebounds and 2.0 blocks.
- Brooks is putting up 4.5 assists per game with a 3-to-1 turnover-to-assist ratio, and has a team-high six steals.
