Katrina Hayden added 13 points while
Danielle Frachiseur chipped in 10 points as the No. 17 Arkansas Tech Golden Suns basketball team (12-1, 7-0 Great American Conference) turned in a dominant performance in an 87-44 win over Southern Nazarene (5-9, 2-6 GAC) on Saturday.
The Golden Suns forced 27 turnovers in the contest, scoring 31 of their points as a direct result of the turnovers.
The Crimson Storm started the contest on a 6-1 run over the first three minutes of the contest, but the lead would be short-lived as Tech used a 6-0 run of its own to claim a 7-6 lead at the 15:03 mark of the opening half.
SNU's Abby Boyd hit a layup at the 15:03 mark to give SNU an 8-7 lead, but the Golden Suns scored the game's next 12 points to take a 19-8 lead at the 9:16 mark.
The Crimson Storm were able to get to within five points (24-19) with 6:05 to play until half, and kept their deficit in the single digits through the 3:29 mark when they narrowed it to nine (35-26), but the Golden Suns finished the half on a 9-0 run to take an 18-point (44-26) lead into halftime.
The second half saw the Golden Suns extend their lead even further, as Tech outscored SNU 43-18 over the final 20 minutes of the contest.
Tech held a 35-27 advantage on the rebounding glass, including a 15-3 advantage in offensive boards. That disparity set up a 12-2 advantage in second-chance points in favor of the Golden Suns.
